Indeed.

I do hope the mastering sounds like on 1999 SDE.

I do hope to hear many more details, finally understand some lyrics, etc.

I do hope to 'get' the vibe like I did when I was younger.

I know I can. lol

I was pretty much a cassette kid in '87, but I bought the SOTT vinyl because I had to have that big blue heart sticker. And while I listened to it several times on vinyl, it wasn't long before I taped it and went that route. Then in '89 I bought the cd (my 1st cd ever - two jewel cases in a longbox, $50 CDN) and have listened to that ever since.

So I really haven't heard this album sound like it should in 33 years. Three cheers for Bernie! biggrin

They don't appear to be doing music videos for the SDE stuff but I'd love for them to take a crack at All My Dreams or Adonis & Bathsheba. They did a wonderful job with Holly Rock and I could see something similar for either.

Cosmic Day would be really cool with a higher budget. He paints a picture so well with the lyrics and it would fit nearly perfect with an animated style.

(Well perfect would be a Roger Rabbit type of thing with live action Prince entering a cartoon but the ship has sailed on that)

There is LITERALLY a text on each goddamn Amazon page (where appropriate) that says "Pre-order price guarantee." and next to is is a link that explains it. (And yes you can view Amazon DE in Englsih because that is literally an option they provide to you.) How about you click that instead of coming to a forum THAT HAS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH AMAZON.

.

Sheesh.

First of all I am sorry I didn't click the link...

Second I am sorry that I posted in a forum where probably many people made the same high-price purchase as a pre-order

And third did my question really bothered you that much? seriously?

If you get ill, do you go to the butcher to ask their customers for medical advice? Or do you go to the doctor?

You've not said anything wrong. Full of touchy attention seekers on here. All offended by everything. Grow a back bone.

I think that for me, simply being respectful of others while either answering a question or directing them on where to find the answers is where the discord is. All about the tone that is occasionally taken

.

The 'tone' is coming from a belief, I believe, that people (not just the orgers) have a certain responsibility to deliver a good job. I.e.: look for info by themself first in the right places, only then cry for help here; deliver a good CD-set, without fluking on the mastering, the song selection, etc; handle the estate well and efficiently, quickly too (not in this reality).

.

Some people cannot see through or past the shape or the tone of the message.

They cannot look at the contents, understand the message, act like they understand the message.

No, they balk about the shape or tone and see no error in tehir own circle of influence.

.

That is a Sign of the Times.

All in all this is a site about Prince music, I think that anyone who takes a music forum so seriously to where they get nasty because of any reason as opposed to empathetic, is doing it wrong IMO. Ultimately there have been more than one person I have met on other forums who specifically cited that hostile vibe as why they avoid discussing Prince on this site and they are wonderful conversationalists on those forums - so it is a shame that they caught such bad vibes here by a select few. It is doing more harm than good

"Bart, How about you don't post that here, and instead of coming to this forum THAT HAS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH A GODDAMN REPLY ABOUT CUSTOMERS SERVICE OR FAQ ON AMAZON. You could easily SEND A PRIVATE ORGNOTE instead. Shees."

-

Well look, it kinda works... no?! wink

All jokes aside, I like the guy though.

He spreads spelling fear and brings the most dark cynical humor ànd so much more to this confusing place of info.

He's that horrible angry teacher everyone hates, but nevertheless pays attention to.

-

I want 'them' to ask Bart to write future linernotes for Prince releases.

He can do a great job. The info would be 'correct'. There would be less fan idolatry and overuse of the words 'genius' and 'masterpiece'.

Imagine him writing for the SOTT SD release...

I'm pretty much convinced there would be no flaws or misspelling in there and the info would be useful.

smile

Peace though, and,

do check my spelling Bart.

Stop!! Bart says the shit he says In here because he can’t say it in real life. He says it because it’s safe in his Mom’s basement. Nobody can get him there. That’s the only reason. People are making way too much about his “reasons”. It’s not that complicated.

It’s simple. Bart is protected. Forget all that noise about him “contributing” more then others. Not sure why it is. Maybe he has pictures of some of the mods in compromising positions. Whatever the case, the dude is above whatever laws or rules they try and enforce around here. 😒

It makes you wonder. Pity some Mods don't show consistancy when banning people.

I'd really like to know why Amazon wont ship the superdeluxe set to New Zealand or Australia...the Canadian site is the cheapest for me by a long shot and even though it says it'll ship to NZ when I choose my address it wont allow shipping...I emailed them and got an apology that the fault was theirs and they'd get it sorted...a week later I even rang them and now they say it wont ship there...even though I've had vinyl/cds and dvds sent in the past... I can buy anything else and there's no problems with shipping...its just this new set...grrr...rant over!

Anyone else have this problem? I hear Australians cant get it via amazon either...is that true?

I think this would be a great idea. I'm sure he could team up with Duane. I wonder what tone he would strike. But a book or liner notes by Bart about Prince's business decisions and opportunities, that would be something to read. Especially if some more research can be done in Prince's personal archive.

.

As a matter of fact a book series would be great.

.

Duane - for the music and recordings

Bart - for the business side of his career (lots of interviews with his managers)

??? - a series about performing, with a review of his faux-jagger moves at the start to the masking of hip pains and end, with lots of info about the stageshows in between. (extended Roy Bennet interviews)

everyone else - "my personal relation with Prince" and his relationships with women..

.

the limited edition game played with the 7" box set was pretty brutal this time around. I just wonder how many people got onto it buying multiple copies to sell on eBay. Maybe for the future if they are doing truly limited quantities (less than 2000) they could consider a purchase limit of two per customer.

maybe the mods could pull a michael jackson move and give bart his own thread where all the bart complainers get their posts automatically moved so they dont clog up the topic .. i mean for christs sake .. either reply to the topic or don't participate .. is it that fucking hard .. that said .. i feel the one off cds are not going to be as profitable since the packaging is dull and its easy to download .. the more they can cram into a package the more likely a collector will buy it .. it seems with the legal entanglements and general lack of interest, the amazing lost prince album that i personally wish they would release simply wont happen and we will be left to compile it for ourselves .. i do feel this material could create such an album that could be universally praised and promoted as a lost album .. but with the 98 crystal ball fucking up the tracklist and essentially burying crystal ball dream factory and last heart .. as well as power fantastic burried on the b sides .. those trax wont ever get the proper presentation they deserve .. nor the proper aclaim .. no i dont want the different dream and camille configurations .. i want to pretend crystal ball 98 never happened and hear a proper album of those and other outtakes presented as a real double album stand alone for review .. only because i do think it could be a highly acclaimed and well recieved album for the general public .. whereas these box sets are mostly for die hard collectors and filled with some crappy tunes that will turn off the general public
