Weird question.....I wonder if there is a way to get the full size liner notes, etc from the vinyl set without ordering the vinyl. Iāve got the CDs but would like the bigger versions instead of the smaller print in the CD pkg

True but he could have done to it what he did to the original version of Wally. I mean, now that the estate is in charge, what is the point of cleaning the master tape and digitizing it if itās never going to be released since itās that bad? They should let it rot or bury it in the desert under that logic.

Why are they catering to people that don't listen to Prince, don't spend money on Prince products and are only looking for something to complain about? These are two songs that are already in wide circulation and if you interpret them as "pro-rape", instead of just another dangerous topic Prince was playing with at the time, there's something wrong with your brain. Leaving them in the vault only gives power to Prince's enemies and harms the paying customer.

What the hell is going on in those linked threads with all that discussion of individual tracks?!?! Iām saddened that people in droves are downloading a leak instead of waiting a few days for the official release. And Iām surprised and almost shocked that the Org is effectively promoting the leak by starting those threads before release date. Iām gonna avoid those threads until I get the official release. Prince clearly stated the 1982 version would be released someday. People are terrified of bad press which is just hilarious. Nobody's reputation is gonna be marred by these lyrics.

- lousy interview, but great to hear those snippets ! - The track 'Rearrange' sounds very promissing. Love to hear Prince's young voice again. So refreshing. Thanx for that. - "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

Anyone who is bothering to seek out a download in 2019 is going to buy the set. It's not 2002 anymore, people just stream stuff for free as it is.

I downloaded the leak. Mainly as it was the afternoon on a Sunday in the UK so I had time to listen to it. I've only listened to the outtake disc completely once. I have listened to a few other tracks a few times. Now I'm waiting for the vinyl set to arrive before I listen again. It's hard though waiting.

. Just comparing the bootleg and official versions of "If It'll Make U Happy", it seems obvious to me that the mixes are pretty different (different effects, different balance, etc.). Unless our friend Niko Bolas used a completely different stereo mixdown as a reference, it appears that he took a lot of artistic liberties with his mixes. Again. . Listening to "Purple Music" on headphones, the song sounds way more contemporary than it should. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something wrong with it (some plugin effects?).

Again this is all conjecture, no evidence. Who has a full knowledge of what is in the vault? Both tracks sound great to me.

Can you clarify what "more contemporary than it should" means?

I think I stand alone in this, but after hearing the two volumes on unreleased songs, I will only buy the remastered 1999 double album in vinyl. The unreleased material isn't hitting me at all, and I have no reason to get the volume of single edits/promos. [Edited 11/27/19 9:26am] "He's a musician's musician..."

. They sound great to me, too, and I'm happy to be finally able to listen to all those studio outtakes on an official release. That was not the question. . Of course, what I'm saying is a conjecture. But it's based on: . 1) the Peach & Black interview with Niko Bolas, where Bolas says, on the one hand, that they used reference mixdowns to make mixes as close as possible to the original mixes and, on the other hand, that Bolas used a lot of reverb because it sounded good to him. He's contradicting himself. I don't know why exactly, but this gives us an idea of how serious he is about mixing Prince's tracks (i.e. not much). . 2) the first minute of "If It'll Make U Happy" on the deluxe version of "1999" and the first minute of "If It'll Make U Happy" on "Blast From The Past 3.0" (for example). . And yes, again, maybe there were several stereo mixdowns of "If It'll Make U Happy". I don't know. But using Occam's razor, here, I'll go with Niko Bolas not staying faithful to the original mix because "it sounded good to him"...

. I mean something totally subjective, but to me it's like hearing a modern mix that uses digital effects/plugins and not 1982 technology. Some parts of the song only. Not the whole song. . But maybe a collector with this particular version of "Purple Music" can shed light on this? Neversin?
