I don't know if we're allowed to discuss this, but NPR did a story on the reissue, and it included snippets of Teacher, Teacher, and Rearrange: . The link, which I am not sure if I am allowed to share, is here: https://www.npr.org/2019/...lease-1999 . From the snippet - and not the leak - I think Teacher Teacher sounds cool. If Michael Howe is reading this: HEAR ME NOW I have the perfect solution for Extraloveable. Just edit the rape lyrics out. I made a seemless cut myself. It goes from the “spare some time” lyric to “if you don’t stop the groove...” part perfectly!! Do it!! | |

Even the classic BIG cut Gimme the Loot censored a word they thought was to risque in context n let the other expletives fly. But I'm not for it 4 EL. Not that I think that the r word is anything to play around with. I know my boys intention was to shock n wasn't necessarily condoning it or whatever. However if they do decide to release it someday however it's fine. I agree it's a fine song n worthy of a release. Hell even P resurrected it n flipped it. What did Disney+ said in its disclaimer for some of its movies? “This content may include some outdated cultural references”? Go with that, what’s good for the goose & all that Jazz, completely pointless to censor what’s already been documented. Even if they censored it, somebody will dig up the unedited version which is already out there in the sphere. Much as I love both songs though, I’m not that bummed about their exclusion from the set, woulda been nice but there’s a bigger fish to fry. | |

My guess is that they thought of just editing those lyrics out, too, but then figured that once Extralovavle and Lust U Always were out to the general public, there would be discussions where someone would mention, "You know, they edited out references to rape in these songs". Then, there would be a whole bunch of controversy over the original, non-edited lyrics. Michael Howe and the estate probably figured they'd be better off omitting those tracks altogether just to avoid any possible backlash overshadowing the reissue.
