I wonder how a man under so many NDA stuff can give so many interviews... Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

it might be intentional. Whenever they ask a question that the estate does not want answered, it's "sorry, NDA". It gives him extra leeway to not answer questions while not immediately coming across as a dick. Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here!

Not sure why people want Mutiny and High Fashion so bad. The Voice I never got into that song. Yeah I agree they should have added the guitar and strings in Love They Will Be Done but I wonder if that was added in for her version. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

. Oh god, more pedantic BS from Serge Simonart, the genius who complained in 1991 that Prince didn't release a song like "Still Would Stand All Time". © Bart Van Hemelen

. Michael Howe part: Starts with speculation on how tracks got leaked to bootleggers. Says that the tapes from the start of Prince's career up to 1985 were in a bad condition. Serge thinks that "Golden Parachute" and "The Truth" are unreleased tracks. Howe says he's working on the next release and that it will feature two very explicit tracks, which they're not censoring. Michael Howe appears to think that "The Hookers" were an existing group before Prince took them on and renamed them to "Vanity 6". Serge claims that he heard Prince say that he had dictated his memoires to tape (but Serge is known to be making shit up and misinterpreting things). . Susannah Melvoin part: Says that they nicknamed the gentle side of Prince "Steve". Claims that Prince tried to recruit Wendy for the JWs and that he repeatedly talked to Wendy about this, badgering her. She says she "seldom" saw Prince trying XTC or coke (lord knows what she really said, of course -- again, Serge isn't a reliable source). . [Edited 7/9/19 15:35pm] © Bart Van Hemelen

So Michael doesn even 'dare' to coment on his own (is)likes for certain songs, can only diss TGE... Is that an American thing? Or did the NDA actually mention his own tastes? You seem kind of dim or maybe you haven't read any other interviews with him. He isn't King of the Estate. He isn't in charge of what is released. He could not make Originals a 4 disk box set, even if he wanted to.

I think there's probably some interest in not just making money, since contracts will give all parties plenty, but finally allowing the world — and fans — to truly appreciate the scope and depth of Prince's peerless genious. Yes, I said PEERLESS. No ONE artist has this many diverse accessible and astoundingly crafted songs that reach such a wide variety of audiences. And I'm sure there's more to come.

in case I didn't drop this in the right bucket....
Make-Up!
THAT is my SONG, Baby!!!
When we get Editors curating albums, we may not get the suprising bitts Priapist Prince perpetually pushed into his albums—and the explicit political ANTIWAR* messages are totally absent from this “Origials”—but at least Editors threw in a curve ball to catch some of us off guard in collection that was remarkable only in its understatements.
*Make-Up's double entendre goes beyond the cosmetic and sounds like an explicit command to “make up”, which aside form ferocious love songs, is a subtle if backhand nudge (over a punk/funk groove) toward detente, peace, and making love not war. [Edited 7/11/19 8:35am]

Re-listening to it today. I have seen a comment or two that claim Prince didn't give his all with his vocals, since these were "guide tracks".

Except for some Universal Japan CD reissues, where many titles have been poorly sourced from vinyl. Hasn't happened with Warner yet, that I know of. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

"MH: Well, somewhat. I mean we don’t want to induce Prince fatigue, you know. I’m not sure that opening the floodgates, with 50 tracks, is really the best consumer experience. "

He has to study the Prince markets some more. Learn about profit maximization. . Any other artist can sell boxes of tracks and have their estate prosper: https://www.zappa.com/new...october-20 Box with USB stick, or box with 3 CD's. Or view the list of some record store: https://www.platomania.nl/boxsets That's just a small sampling, there's loads and loads more. . How can it be that people even listen tot these Michael? They must be overfed with this music! . I think it is safe to assume that no one is actually in charge of the profit maximization strategy. Either they are and they are incompetent or no one is in charge and the result is incompetence. . Put this next to the flaws that were noted in P&M '83 and in Originals, the packaging, the booklet, the awesome in-depth liner notes and we see a product line that is in dire need of some improvement. Perhaps even retroactive improvement. . . .

Never trust Prince fans from their compilation choices because they intend to choose the shit tracks... after all they are iTunes Heads with a big Apple stuck up in their asses

. Whaaaaaat!? Apple streams b00tleggars stuff? I'd gladly help choose some tracks for free, but hey, this iron mountain place (was it?) is in the US. I.e.: I won't go there until after the revolution.
