1 year on - Why no mention of the investigation or updates?! I find it odd that almost one year on there has been total radio silence about the circumstances of his untimely death. I know that the police were doing an investigation but surely by now there should have been updates? I am a little concerned that this is getting brushed under the carpet while we are distracted by all these books and celebration cashing in events. Why is his death being celebrated? This is concerning for me, it's almost as if its been celebrated because now money can be made without the risk of being sued. Band members can reunite and everything can now get released and exploited for cash and his wishes seem to have beem ignored, it's as if he wasn't a living breathing human! Why wasn't the celebration in June as they always were? Why is it so ridiculously expensive? It just takes hardcore fans for the mugs that they often are!
If you compare this with George Michael, a proper investigation was done, they did proper tests before allowing the funeral and we now know it was heart failure. In contrast, it seems that they couldn't cremate Prince quick enough - odd seeing as this was a potential crime scene. Why, 1 year on have we really heard nothing and why is the .org and other places almost complicit in trying to brush this under the carpet by not allowing discussion on it. If this was murder, as I suspect, then those that did the murder have got exactly what they want - distracted fans and no mention of the circumstances of his death.
COME ON PPL - WE NEED ANSWERS AND IF WE ARE TRUE FANS WE SHOULD BE FIGHTING FOR THE TRUTH AND HIS WISHES NOT JUST MINDLESSLY BUYING ALL THE CASHING IN TRASH!

Well, first of all, you CANNOT compare one countrys' system of dealing with things like this to anothers!! Totally different systems!! I for one, got very frustrated with the length of time it took to have George Michaels funeral considering he died on Christmas Day!!!! What the fuck else had they got to find out??? Yet, in the USA it would have taken far less time!!! Another thing is, particularly in the USA, if there is no will or any other directive on how the deceaseds funeral should be conducted, then they go for the quickest option which is virtually cremation the very next day as they are not in the habit of keeping bodies in morgues forever!!!LOLOLOL
Also, maybe they are, in someway, following Princes JW beleifs, as JWs consider a persons death of far more significance than their birth, after all, if you look in the Bible, Jesus said that he wanted his death to be of far more importance to the world than his physical earthly birth was!! I dunno, just a hunch!!!!!LOLOLOL
Also, regarding any investigations or anything, to be honest, I dont think there is anymore to investigate regarding his death!! We all know the cause of his death, so theres nothing anymore to investigate really, unless u want to start delving into conspiracy theories!!!
But, I do agree, that for the first anniversary of his death, everything has gone distastefully WAY OVER THE TOP!!! There wasnt nearly as many events and fiascos on the first anniversary of David Bowies death!!! Everything regarding that was far more dignified, mature and respectful!! But then again Bowie fans were always far more articulate, mature and more adult, unlike a vast majority of the Prince fans, who have acted so immature, childish, and dare I say it, even disrespectful!! Weeping and wailing over him day after day for virtually a whole year, acting like total idiots who were brainwashed into PurpleCultdom!!!LOLOLOL. I always thought it was stupid weeping and wailing over someone that NO-ONE hardly ever KNEW personally!! After all, he wasnt a personal friend to me and he wasnt to all you lot either!! Did he ever come round to your homes for tea, coffee or whatever and had a good chat with u or did u meet him down at the local Starbucks as close friends do, for chats and chinwags, or did he help u out when u were in trouble as REAL friends do??? He certainly never did that to me!!!LOLOL
The Revolution and the New Power Generation have probably been itching for years to reunite, but Prince probably said No, cos in some ways he held the ownership of the bands and even their names(He even had ownership over Morris Day & The Time, which is why a few years ago, they had to call themselves The Original 7 when they reunited), so now that Prince has died, they feel somewhat "released" and can now reunite and honour him in the process on tours!!
Anyway, just my

There is no comparision between David Bowie and Prince .

Bowie is awesome and a damn fine actor. Musically, he is no Prince. But artistically he is up there with him..and, dare I say, more savvy than Prince.

1. Outside of the family it's nobody's business and we don't deserves anything.
I disagree. He was a public figure so it's normal to want to know what happened to the musician whose work you knew and loved. Bowie and GM fans at least have a sense of closure now but sadly Prince fans haven't been given that yet and these cryptic statements by family and associates is only fuelling speculation when you'd think it's in their inteterests to get the truth out there to stop all these theories and help people move on.
What makes you think fans would accept whatever "truth" was put out there?
If there was an offical statement from a coroner or a police chief that would settle things for the majority, hearing about George Michaels' heart attack from the official coroner has helped to end speculation and this was done within a few months of his death and I guess helped fans to move on, yet we still have nothing about the investigation on Prince. I think it's only fair to fans and the general public that after a year some statement or update should be made as to the progress of the investigation, particularly as it is classed as a 'homicide' investigation, which implies it was not accidental.

There is no comparison regardless to Bowie's talents which I am well aware of.

I'm on the Rogi train. All this "fans deserve to know" is really selfish imo. Takes away from the man and his work. Brand new boogie without the hero.

In America, we most certainly do have "secret police investigations." Charges, trials, warrents not under court seal are public; active investigations aren't. And by the way, we do have "innocent until proven guilty" too. - And the sad truth is: Even if someday someone is arrested for supplying Prince black-market opioids, what do we learn from that? What does that change? The fact is, the likeliest scenario is that Prince was -- like thousands of Americans caught up in this opioid crisis -- intentionally acquiring drugs from the black market. Knowing the name of his supplier, or seeing that supplier get some legal penalty, is not really the most important thing for fans looking to have a deeper understanding of what drove Prince to make the choices he did. - Good lord, there are like 3 open threads on this topic. People need to find ways to accept things (including the fact that when he was alive, they didn't completely know Prince at all) and move on. [Edited 4/2/17 9:29am]

[Edited 4/2/17 2:08am] We should be hearing soon if the investigation remains open or not. I feel the same and do feel there are a few that are not really here for Prince. They want to push the media agenda which is exactly what P told us not to believe. Those stories put out don't add up. Nor does his untimely death. The people that were with him at his WB signing have distanced themselves from working for him at the time of his death. Van claims he stopped working for him 8 days before but was all over the news the day of his death blabbing they were close bs and Phaedra had said she stopped working in 2015 but has since removed, court docs show otherwise and the Attny Rhonda Trotter has been silent. Would think they'd want that out there as a career accomplishment instead of acting like it never happened. Prince was all about the truth and I will always believe in him. No one that knew him has said any different. He lived his life as he said and had high standards. The media could not get any scandalous news out of him when he was here so now It seems they are trying to bring him down. It is wrong and hurts because his message was a good one for all. They have even taken his symbol and turned it into something else ...so sad to me. I am with you and want his legacy brought back to where he left it. He deserves so much better than this.

Agree. So many threads devolving into death gossip and theories. Seems to be escalating closer to his "death anniversary". Nothing new is being said - some kind of negative emotional need. Has less and less to do with the person than ever. Brand new boogie without the hero.

The police file and search warrent will be opened to the public. Courts and police are paid with tax dollars so they can only keep things sealed for so long even the full report of the autopsy will be open in 30 years and the short report was put out because once again we do not allow govertment agencies to do things in secret unless it is a matter of national security.

Unfortunately, if they do release the sealed record, it will dampen the anniversary of his passing. I'm farily certain that the file will create more questions than answers and probably will provide some information into Prince's very private health struggle that will be misconstrued. I'm hoping they release it after the Celebration. The information needs to come out and will come out, but it really isn't that important anymore. If you read between the lines of the CBK Kirk J interview, the investigation report probably doesn't incriminate anyone but there was probably some enabling going on and Prince's struggles were probably a lot more significant than anyone knew. He was at peace with himself and at peace with finding his way back home. That is really all that I need to know.
