I find it odd that almost one year on there has been total radio silence about the circumstances of his untimely death. I know that the police were doing an investigation but surely by now there should have been updates? I am a little concerned that this is getting brushed under the carpet while we are distracted by all these books and celebration cashing in events.

Why is his death being celebrated? This is concerning for me, it's almost as if its been celebrated because now money can be made without the risk of being sued. Band members can reunite and everything can now get released and exploited for cash and his wishes seem to have beem ignored, it's as if he wasn't a living breathing human!

Why wasn't the celebration in June as they always were? Why is it so ridiculously expensive? It just takes hardcore fans for the mugs that they often are!

If you compare this with George Michael, a proper investigation was done, they did proper tests before allowing the funeral and we now know it was heart failure. In contrast, it seems that they couldn't cremate Prince quick enough - odd seeing as this was a potential crime scene. Why, 1 year on have we really heard nothing and why is the .org and other places almost complicit in trying to brush this under the carpet by not allowing discussion on it. If this was murder, as I suspect, then those that did the murder have got exactly what they want - distracted fans and no mention of the circumstances of his death.

COME ON PPL - WE NEED ANSWERS AND IF WE ARE TRUE FANS WE SHOULD BE FIGHTING FOR THE TRUTH AND HIS WISHES NOT JUST MINDLESSLY BUYING ALL THE CASHING IN TRASH!

I honestly don't think this was an accident: there was no way he would have had time to put his clothing on the way it was when they found him if he had taken the Fentanyl-laced pills - they would have taken effect almost immediately - and there would not have been enough time to reach the elevator if he did feel overcome. I think the position he was found in would be a key fact, too. Either suicide or murder ... take your pick.

Have people thought about what they're gonna do if something major is revealed next week — and it proves their wild guesses and cockamamie theories are hella wrong?

On your left is how rational people think of the investigation into the source of the fentanyl that Prince accidentally ODed on.

While on your right is how the fantasists — [a.k.a. “fans”] — think about it

Agree with you ISasha this was no accident.
Not one employee or ex PP worker ever said there were always pills scattered around....but yet that was what we were told PP had the day he was found.
Plus-
All his clothes on backwards
Heading to the garage
If he took something and felt out of it I doubt he was going out for a ride...you would think he would instead called for help not get his car. Seems as if he was trying to get away...

So you hang around here and pick the bones and write the one millionth post with "doesn't add up" in it. My opinion is not artifical or flawed logic. It's not normal to endlessly obsess over the unknown and call that true fandom. Or as Prince might say - fanatic-dom.

Well Im not here everyday obsessing over it.

But I definitly still await some type of clear explanation as to what really happened and continue untill then to wonder why the whole thing has a "cover up" feel about it.

It seems many people feel same way as me or i feel same way as them, and thats why u have sooo many posts on this topic. BTW Im not reading every single post on the thread so if I say or use same words as others used its more down to fact people are feeling the same way , im just expressing myself not trying repeat what someone said.

I dont see how me feeling that way is taking anything away from Prince , his music etc.

So I refer to the comment that because someone wants to know the truth in a situation that seems to smell of a cover up, you say that somehow takes away from Prince's legacy, to me that is flawed logic.

Legacy and what happened to Prince are 2 seperate things.

You have two types of people posting on this subject.

1. People who have noticed inconsistencies with the subject and come here to list them and compare notes on the subject.

and…

2. People who come here and demean those that do.

Once again muley, we agree in general. But we differ on the details.

  2. Those of you who interpret everything in life with A Lot Of Melodrama

What is a 'Cold Case' would be solving the endless dilemma that is no.2 type of people... those who interpret everything in life with A Lot Of Melodrama! Not to mention names but laurarichardson, zenarose, purplediamonds1, oliviacamron spring to mind as people who will be debating this long after 21 April. The time to respect Prince's legacy should definitely commence after the 1st anniversary, whatever ambiguity remains!

I was wondering why there was little word on the investigation a few weeks ago but what else is there to really say..?

We already know that Prince died of a Fentanyl overdose and we also know that opioid abuse is a real problem in the US and Fentanyl (as a synthetic opioid) is the cause of many more drug related deaths in society, but Prince's death was one of many. It makes me sad as a fan, especially watching his live performances on YT, or thinking back to when I saw him in concert. I wish it could be different but it is the way it is.

The illegal trade in opioids and cross-contamination with just a few grammes of Fentanyl is the unfortunate danger and risk you take if you decide to acquire these types of meds illegally. Do we need to find the supplier, I guess so. It's illegal activity that is affecting many people so the trade in these drugs should be stopped, but will it ever be? As long as there are people who want drugs then there will be a market. I'm sure the police want to conclude the investigation at some point but Prince's death isn't going to stop this infortunately

Prince was given a warning on that flight, he didn't heed it and wasn't able to, being in the grip of opioid addiction. Lenny Kravitz had mentioned previously that he knew something was going on but there are just glimpses of the truth that we're being given. It doesn't even matter that people aren't coming out and saying, look, this is how it was. It's not going to bring Prince back and I can actually understand that his friends and ex-bandmates want to protect the privacy that Prince had during his lifetime.

None of this matters though, Prince's death wasn't murder, there's no conspiracy but Prince's access to drugs and his functioning addiction (because this is what it was) led him down a dangerous road and seemingly contaminated meds was the cause.

It sucks (big time) but that's what we are left with and for once I really just think we should focus on the incredible music and legacy we were left with. Prince's death will not define him or his legacy, thankfully - his music will do that.

Great post.

No. It's an absolutely AWESOME post! Very eloquent and well stated. And unfortunately for us all, most likely based on complete and utter facts. Bravo, and thanks for being the voice of reason amidst chaos and craziness. Very much appreciated.

This is what the media wants…where are the facts?

The Media! The Media! The Media! What is it with you kiddies and The Media?

The same media you're all kvetching about, and denouncing as liars, is the same media that you look to for election coverage. The same media that keeps you abreast on what your elected politicians are doing on your behalf.

It's the same media that you rely on for facts about the economy. It's the same media you rely on for knowing whether or not its gonna rain tommorow.

It's fascinating how you all believe The Media and trust it as a reliable source when you seek to be informed on all those things above. And in the grand scheme of things any rational-minded, mature adult would agree that all those things above are much more important than any particular Pop musician.

But then you selectively choose not to believe The Media when they're saying something that bursts your bubble about your favorite celebrity.

The irony of it is, the same media that you're claiming is lieing about Prince's death, is the very same media you relied on for getting information about Prince when he was alive! The same media through which you first heard about Prince, even!

A lot of people here clearly got a lot of growing up to do.

Here's the thing I don't understand: What would be the motivation of "the media" to conspire to spread a false narrative out Prince's death?

-

Assuming "the media" cares not a whit for truth or accuracy, and simply makes stuff up to increase its advertising revenue, wouldn't they WANT to peddle a story about a convoluated murder plot again Prince? A story like THAT would get them way more website traffic/magazine sales/whatever than an accidental overdose on opioids brought on by a dependency struggle (yawn).

-

Unless, you say, "the media" is PART of the murder plot?? "The media" snuck out to Chanhassen and put P's clothes on backward and forced the opioids down his throat?? Find out on the next episoide of "CSI: Paisley Park"!

Laura, in all honesty sometimes I wonder if you actually read the posts people publish or if you're responding to something else. Did I say he did not have the flu? What I said was that Prince told us not to believe the papers, but the papers merely reported that he had the flu, so why say "don't believe the papers" if you atually have the flu, something totally mundane? What I think is that he antecipated that the papers soon wouls start suggesting an OD because of the Moline records, so he was trying to be one step ahead, as per usual.

Did you expect him to go on stage and give a detailed explanation of his health issues? Realize that Charlie Murray was sick and still performing stand up but did not make his illness a part of his comedy routine. He was sick continued to work and maintained his privacy.

Sorry it did not come off that way to me. Did the media ever know what Prince was doing? I think right now they do not know jack shit about what was going with him and I doubt if they ever will.

Mumio said: Well said, this is exactly it. A year ago Prince himself set it straight and said don't believe the media. He corrected the in they were already putting on what happened to him. The media thrives on negative news and bringing good people down.

Prince was right.

Agree LR, I believed it when he said he had the flu...his words were the truth.
