JEN KILLED IT JUST AS SHE DID THE DAY HE PASSED.THATS HOW HE LOVED IT SUNG WITH FEELING LIKE WHEN PATTI DID IT.CELEBS ARE HUMAN AFTER ALL AND MANY GET VERY EMOTIONAL WHILE SINGING A SONG AFTER A CELEB DIES.AND PRODUCERS TAKE THAT INTO CONSIDERATION.JEN SANG VERY WELL EVEN AFTER HER MOTHER,BROTHER AND NEPHEW WERE KILLED.I WISH THE REVOLUTION WOULD OF BACKED HER UP.MAYBE THEY WERE ASKED WE DONT KNOW.

Screaming does not equal singing.

Wasn't as bad as the version she did on Broadway. But still you lose a lot of the soul with all that screaming.

No one should sing Prince, except Prince. That's just the way it has to be.

She has a great, powerful voice, just wish she relied more on phrasing and other nuances in her voice.

Jennifer Hudson's version of Purple Rain had its moments, but I wish they had just left that song alone.

Purple Rain is a hard song to do. I don't think anyone can do it like Prince.

From the Carnegie Hall tribute. The Roots were the house band here as well, with Wendy Melvoin on guitar.

To me what hurts is seeing his photos come up huge. His different looks, his face. It makes you realize just how much more unique he was than most everyone at the show.

He was a lot.

And that's Wendy in the thumbnail.

P.S. Hold the "Shift" key button down when you hit "Enter/Return" to do a hard break. That way you won't need to place periods to separate paragraphs.

After she was done, I looked over to my wife and said "She was good but it jusssst." My wife then said "You keep waiting for someone to come out to sound like him, but no one is gonna sound like him, but him."

This is more garbage. Bilal is the performer I can give props to thus far. I've seen Stevie Wonder strike out three times now. He has absolutely nothing left. This is t what Prince was about....

I remember watching the video of Adam Levine performing PR on the Howard Stern show and thinking how amazing it was. Then I started listening to a bunch of different Prince live performances of it (a recent one from Manchester is especially good) and Levine's performance went from amazing to OK. Prince was just in another league when it came to live performing.

I feel the same way. Bilal did Beatuiful Ones SOME justice though.
