It's kind of sick.

.

And that's what bothered me originally with her doing the tribute, because she is just not on the same level as Prince.

.

Then, when it started, the first thing you see is the crosses and the cane. If she had done her homework, she would have realized that Prince had not worn a cross in a very long time and for a reason that he felt strongly about, and using a cane? Really?? Knowing the fans are still trying to come to terms with Prince's death, with the fact that our man was in a lot of pain and the cane may not have been just a stage prop afterall. That was the first "insult". Then the imagery of the cemetary and burning the Symbol. It was all just very poorly done and the symbology throughout the show was just a slap in the face. There was no tribute in this set, whatsoever.

It was mockery.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

OMG WE HAD NO IDEA THAT'S WHAT THAT MEANT!

Now let me help you captain obvious - she mad her career acting in self centered attention seeking ways. Check her social media. She's clearly pissed by the reaction. She's now doing things to tell everybody F-you. She knows what she's doing in that photo.

But of course you could go on pretending you're somehow morally superior because you can't possibly imagine or believe what she's doing. She's always been such a kind soul!

People hate Madonna. Deal with it.
Her tribute can't come soon enough.
God knows her career was over decades ago.

The "dealer" context is in regard to a reference made on Mother's Day that mothers have a lot to deal with. It's a play on words. There's not much point trying to read into things to embellish dislike for someone. If you don't know the context, find out before bashing. Her tribute was heartfelt and beautiful. I don't get the haters spouting off about this, although I recognize everyone's right to have an opinion. It seems like such a waste of energy to bash her for her tribute to Prince.
Yup I understood the context. Disgraceful that people hated this performance before it ever happened. Then they brought Stevie Wonder to add credibility and he fucked the entire thing up. Unbelievable.

How can you think Stevie ruined the tribute - he was the ony positive energy on the state - and he sang on key. She was horrible!

I believe her statement "Deal with it" was directed to Prince's fans -- telling us to go F**k ourselves if we didn't like her tribute or her picture making fun of his death in an eleator. The Drug reference is clear by her handbag which says DEALER. She's insuting Prince, calling him a person with a Drug Problem and making fun of his death in the eleator. And, we Prince Fans, can just deal with her sickening message, her sickening tribute and her sickening picture!

Why did Prince stop wearing a cross?

.

He said in an interview, that someone had asked him why he would wear a symbol of a device that was used to torture the greatest man that ever lived. (Just paraphrasing). And he said that made him stop and think about it and he had to agree. He felt the focus should be on Christ not the Cross.

Her Twitter currently features an animation of her dancing in that outfit, II. the corner with caption that reads "this is my I'm not your bitch dance".

Don't be naive.
Her feelings are hurt because this was HER moment and people don't like her!
So now she's lashing out like an 8 yr old.
She knows what she's doing.
Ignore her and piss her off even more.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe Jesus died on a cross, they believe he died on a simple stake called a "stauros". Prince explains it all in this video.

FYI - This is also the reason why he changed the title and lyrics of "The Cross" to "The Christ".

Remember she's the "material girl", and Prince was the Spiritual/Theological man. She never grew, and never aspired to better herself or the world. Unlike Prince who devoted his life to improve himself, seek God, seek Truth, and care for others. She was the ant-Prince!

Yes, I'm aware of Stauros and this interview, however, he stopped wearing a cross prior to this and said in an earlier interview about someone having asked him why he would wear it. (It may have been Larry that asked him that.) I'll see if I can find the interview in which he said it.

Obviously you never paid attention to interviews and what she has said about the "material girl" tag or followed her career closely. Just like most people think Purple Rain with Prince SMH.

I'll check this video. I rememeber when he performed "The Cross" to "The Christ". during one BET performance. And he put his arms up as if on a stake/stauros. And I never seen him do that and then found out later why he had done this... hhhhmmm neutral

Madonna in that disrespectful pic of her in purple in front of the elevator is exactly why I never liked her mad
She is an attention seeking oh...Prince had more class than all of them....
Ugh why did she have to do that ... I feel so mad I gave her the benefit of a shitty performance because she might have been upset and grieving. I think she is doing this not just for attention but to add salt to everyone's wounds.

Some people on here believe it is an Illuminati message, the imagery in the performance and possibly Dealer is a clue. Others believe message is "deal with it" which she posted on Instagram which is a common phrase used when dealing with disapproval. I'm not sure.

Instagram or twitter. It was not during the performance, but was definitely a statement about the backlash she has received over the performance.
