Given how often over the last 20 years Prince made comments about releasing the audio or video of a recent concert, I think we might be reading a bit too much into his statements at PP about releasing the Atlanta show.

In fact, if he played the Atlanta show believing it would be his last, it would never have been held in Atlanta (no disrespect to the ATL). He'd have scheduled something in the Twin Cities, as I have no doubt he'd have wanted his final show to be there.

He said Atlanta was his best concert so far of this tour. The energy that night was incredible and Prince really seemed to feel that. He also released the live version of "Black Sweat" and then played 30 minutes of it from PP. I don't know that he played the Atlanta show knowing it was to be his last, but he was impressed with that show. But he seemed pretty serious about releasing it live. What I am saying, is that he expressed his desire to release it as a live CD. Whether he was serious about it or not, that was his wish at the time of his passing and he was working on it. So, I hope that last wish is honored (whether he intended that to be the last concert or not, is moot - given his statements about wanting to release it).

The plans to write an autobiography, the save your prayers remark, the sometimes autobiographical and sentimental anecdotes during the shows, the lack of a band and focus on just him and his piano (his first instrument when he was a kid), and the let bygones be bygones attitude lately (meeting Susan Moonsie, Apollonia, Brenda, even Jill Jones again).

All this gave me a bit of a eerie feeling before he died, like he was entering a new phase.

But I don´t think he was expecting to die soon. Van Jones said Prince had a lot of plans for the future.

He spoke to Dez Dickerson three weeks ago, too:

It breaks my heart to think about what type of pain he might have been in when he was on that airplane (before the emergency landing). It must have been unbearable. Ironically I found a P bootleg VHS in my old crate taped at.....Moline, Illinois. I can't even bear to watch it.

I don't feel so bad about him being alone when he died. I suspect he might have wanted it that way. Not so sure how I feel about the elevator, though. But I guess (and hope) it was sudden and quick.

Actually his dying in the elevator brings to mind the song Let's Go Crazy-- "r we gonna let the elevator (death) bring us down?" And he wants us not to be bogged down by his death but celebrate the life he lead-- let's go crazy! That's one way I'm coping with it anyway.

If you know anything solid, call the law.

Don't post the kind of stuff you're posting here because:

a) if you're a witness to something, then talk to the authorities. Don't use a fan site, it takes away from your credibility.

b) screenshots are easily faked, so they will convince no one.

c) it's terribly bad judgement to think posting those on a forum such as this at this time is the thing to do.

I am all for releasing the show.

My point is just that his statements about wanting to release it don't seem to be good evidence that he knew he was about to die. I can think of dozens of times where he has made "in the moment" statements about releasing concerts or various other projects... then he'd never get around to it and move on to the next thing.

Seems like Sheila E and others in the Prince camp know what happened. Maybe it is not important for us to know. I hope people just take time to remember him and celebrate. I don't think he would have wanted people to cry or get depressed about it.

Any idea why she is using the present tense, as in "We know what´s going on.." instead of "We know what happened." ?

I understand her wish to keep these matters private but with all the stupid rumor in some tabloid newspapers (some even quoting drug dealers who ´d allegedly been supplying him with drugs for more than 25 years) it would probably much better to say what really happened in order to stop those nasty rumors.

I think what he said was fine, not so much your reply. It is his right to speculate. I would love to discuss with fans who loved prince the rumours. I am going crazy in my head putting things together and a discussion might help me not come up with the wrong answer.
It is natural to want to know what happened, both in the last week and in the last 40 years. Prince was and still is a public figure, with fans who have dedicated a lot into there idol, they deserve to be able to try and piece things together without being shot down in flames.

Maybe we're getting a little confused here. My comment wasn't directed at KoolEaze. What I meant was: Sheila said she knows something, but didn't want to say what. In that case, the best thing to do is make no comments at all until you're sure of whatever it is that you know. If you know something that you can prove, bring it out. If not, just say:"no comment." Sheila was suggesting all sorts of things and that doesn't help. That's what I was trying to say, sorry if it came out wrong.

When I first saw Sheila´s reaction after what happened she said she´d fly to Minneapolis and find out what really happened. Considering the tragic circumstances, I perfectly understand why she would not want to talk about what happened but her use of the present tense sounds strange to me but maybe she´s just nervous, sad and stressed out.

I know I haven´t been the same ever since I heard the bad news.

I´m not saying she should explain anything.....just saying that some tabloid rags have already jumped on the nasty rumors bandwagon and I find that disrespectful , quoting drug dealers and whatnot.

A clear answer might stop the rumors....but then again, it´s absolutely none of my business and it´s perfectly understandable that she does not want to talk about it.

And North C....I know your comment was not directed at me.

I think Feranti misunderstood you.

I think that too. I doubt they were even that close anymore. They may have spoken occasionally, but I doubt it was as genuine as before she vowed never to work with him again and published that book.

Hey does anyone know what was up with the comment he told an audience at Paisley a few days ago about him "not being able to play the guitar anymore"?

I heard that he was too sick or too much in pain to continue playing. This was on a website, I don't remember which one.

We still don't know why he kicked her from that tour.

According to other Prince associates, like Dez, Prince does seem to have made attempts to reconnect with old friends prior to his passing. So, who knows?...

I think we´ve discussed this here on the org. She was supposed to open for Prince but then Prince decided to let Larry Graham open the concert.

But that´s just what I remember off the top of my head. Other orgers probably know more about that incident.

I don't know what to think, just have to wait for news. But there are some odd things as mentioned here. Another is that if you look at his Instagram posts made over the last couple of months, starting and finishing with blank posts, they form his symbol shape. This took a couple of months to make but was completed with his final post.

What? Really ? How so?

How did you notice that?

I have a picture of the whole thing but I am not sure how to post it. I can email it to someone to post if they PM me an email address.

Nothing will quell rumours quicker than an offical statement from the family. The world wants to know for many reasons but mainly: closure. Not being forthcoming with facts allows people to spin out and it becomes more and more ghoulish by the moment.

Sheila should not say anything - and saying 'we know whats going on' is fuel, for every speculation. sad

Knew he was dying you mean like he couldn't play like he used to anymore bcause of body pain n that killd his spirit or he literally had an illness that was going to kill him .. what exactly are we talking about here. Hip replacements are painful but recoverable to an extent but they're even more painful n worse if you don't have it done I mean he was risking permanent disability. Did he get hip replacements or no?
