A visit to Minneapolis - article in The Quietus magazine

Don't know if this has been posted yet...

Really nice article about a long-time fan heading to Minneapolis on a Prince pilgrimage:

The Quietus do a good line in Prince articles. Simon Price is a particularly entertaining writer on the subject of Prince and Prince's music.

Great story. I sense that a LOT of people will be visiting Minneapolis for their very own Prince Tour, including myself. In fact, I'm willing to bet that tour buses are going to become part of the norm.

I agree! It would be a way for me to relinquish some of the grief I have to visit the place he called home and engross myself (be it a short time) in his stomping grounds and see his world through my eyes. That is a trip I am working on!

I don't wanna die, I'd rather dance my life away!

It is a good story, isn't it?

I like the fact it is nostalgic and there is an authenticity about the desire behind being there but it isn't saccharine. It's nice that the tour guide appears to get it too...hopefully he will remain as sincere and respectful as and when this "tour" takes off.

I felt really bad reading this article...I'd forgotten so many of those landmarks...I must be losing my purpleness! I would very much like to take a trip like that myself, one day.
