Ditto. Booooring.

Plus, when it comes to the "melody",
the verses sounds like decals of the verses of "Shhh".
And another production using ugly synth stock sounds.

"The Arms Of Orion" is a great song.

The silly "P Control" should have remained in the vaults. The outrageously funky "Hide The Bone" should have taken its place on TGE.

Plus, it has an ugly fretless lick, sounds like some sensual slug.
Or some musical tightened-hips modulated fart in slo-mo.

I'm getting a "My Name Is Bart" feeling from memories of "The One".
Meaning I'm getting mean just remembering it.

But the Charlot feel in the video was Supercute.

I don't think Prince comes off as a very intelligent person, at least in the stereotypical "book smarts" sense. He may have a philosophical mind, but there are many times when he seems a little dumb.

I think sometimea he dumbs down his message for his audience and thats when it comes across as inane. Hes not booksmart but he is smart. He can be patronising though..thats when he seems not so smart

I agree. Much more enjoyable video than song. (Which is odd for Prince!)

Is 'Strollin' widely disliked? I've never seen people talk about it much around here, but I think it's great.

I don't get why nobody seems to like My Name Is Prince - totally funny tongue-in-cheeck, yet still groovy.

I agree with both of these, but 'My Name is Prince' would be greatly improved without Tony M. I dunno, put in a guitar solo or something...

Prince comes off annoyingly negative and snarky in a lot of interviews post-1980s.

Maybe eye do, just not like eye did before pimp2

Yeah, Tony doesn't age well. But Prince's rap is great. Not compared to professional rappers, but as in: This is really funky.

The full unedited version has guitar solos, a few of them..

and still enough time for Tony M smile

Lovesexy is not a topshelf Prince album, though Annastesia, I Wish U Heaven, and Positivity rank amongst the very best songs of his career. And When 2 R in Love fits better on The Black Album.

^ Ok....?

We think very differently then.

Imo Lovesexy is one of Prince's best albums, and Imo When 2 R In Love fits badly in with the funk on the Black Album.. fits much bette in on Lovesexy. I love this fine album deeply. love

Sure different opinions then.. smile

"3 Chains o' Gold" is one of Prince's very best songs, IMO. "Now" as well.

"Adore" is close to my least favorite on SOTT.

Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic is a fine pop album. I far prefer it to The Rainbow Children and Musicology.

Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!
