I love the EP.

I thought others would too. Reading thru all these posts is surprising. U guys all are very hard to please.

I suggest that you download the EP and crank it up in your headphones -- Are you just listening to the minute samples and instantly turning up your nose?

We all used to love the maxi singles / remixes right?? These mixes are awesome! At least, I love them.... Thanks Prince

The song is weak, the video for the song is weak, this remix ep is weak etc...

Why have multiple remixes for a half-assed track?

Prince,really man?

Is this the best you got now?

And your replies are weak

Its brilliant!!!! People always complain that Prince doesn't put the effort to promote any singles. Well now he has! The Chappelle cover was a classic Prince PR move of the year. That brought so much attention and press. Now he took advantage of the situation. The song is now on RADIO! A SONG THAT HAS BEEN OUT SINCE EARLIER THIS YEAR! But instead he is turn apart here for it.

CONGRATS PRINCE 4 YOUR NEW MEGA HIT SINGLE AND VIDEO!!!! U R STILL MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

where's the CD (EP) release?????

Anyone remember the right and good old days:

When the Cream and MNIP were released as extended CD EP singles.

Oh that was more than 20 years ago....... those fantastic days are long gone.

I agree with those who says "Breakfast.." is an ok decent song. music

However, I miss the CD format - and with a Prince CD cover pic, not a fake comedian/ pancake.

Lets be patient some more, more and more for that new Prince album..

Cool--it wasn't on Amazon the last I checked, but it's there now--so I guess I'll be getting it.

I've never used iTunes so I have no clue how it works. Is this just clips of the songs or the full versions? Is it worth me signing up?

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

It's responses like this the keep Prince believing his own hype. There is no way any human can produce a masterpiece every time. Being positive is one thing, being a sycophant is another thing altogether.

Buttermilk is the most interesting - there are so many good remixers out there now, why hire such a weak by the numbers person? I could see this working with the compressed vocals and all, but it's not anywhere near what it could be. I've heard way weaker songs being given far better treatment - and that's sad.

The remixes sound good but don't stray far from the original and the length of each track seems a bit short for a remix, just around 3 minutes each, but seems long enough for these. Because the tempo is quite slow and if the tracks were any longer, I'd fall asleep! lol

Grits'n gravy has a bit of extra drum beat and extra bass, with chipmunk.

Espresso ditto, though more like a club mix with chipmunk at the start.

Honey has a bit of extra bass and keyboard effects and Prince's voice singing through a telephone.

Buttermilk is really the most interesting one, sounds a bit like a mix of Daft Punk and George Benson, more of an instrumental.

...every night another symphony...

Loved the song when it came out. Fine little Prince ditty, nothing less or more.

Don't count me in though for these too polished Kirky J produced sounds.

Prince just doesn't know what he wants, except playing the king.
Josh could just do what he wanted except asking for new contributions by P.
(OK, except Buttermilk)
P gave him the track, and all the poor guy could do is put filter sounds over P's voice.
Not even new recorded vocals.
This is the laziest ever !

Indeed, no extended version even...

Too bad these mixes are for sale through iTunes as I have no intention whatsoever to put iTunes on my computer. Why not sell them through 3rdeyetunes.com in WAV format, then I'll probably spend my $ on them... confused

Why not use your own online store to sell your music or at least make that option available for those who are not interested in iTunes. neutral

It should have been a CD anyway...I'm not crazy about the digital format and certainly not the iTunes version! no no no!

I never bought on Amazon either but it seems an easier way of purchasing them. Anybody here who knows the bit rate of the Amazon mp3s?

Espresso Remix for e has a nice little soulful disco feel to it

The Buttermilk version is fine aswell

I enjoyed listening to it and it has revitalisd the original a little bit

I bought the EP from iTunes and I am sure it will result in other people buying it, who either know nothing about Prince and nothing about 3rd Eye Girl websites or this website ......so all good !

itunes? Not 4 me, mp3.

I'll hold out for a Prince album, produced by Prince. Cool that he's giving Josh some shine though...

Just for accuracy's sake, iTunes doesn't sell mp3's. Hell, at this point, considering the way most music is mastered and mixed, a 256 aac/m4a sounds better than a lot of CD's.

I did not know this. So they sell WAV and/or FLAC?

I do agree with what you say about most music these days... compressed to death with no real dynamics. I'm sure these remixes fit into that category.

To be honest, most of the stuff I listen to via my wireless ROKU is m4a, mp3, etc.

No wav or flac files through iTunes - they are 256 kbps m4a files (no drm).

Oh what the hey, I just bought it for £3.99 on iTunes UK.

The Buttermilk mix is pleasant enough, nice guitar noodling.

I'll give the other tracks a proper listen at some point.

It is odd that Prince has released some recent tracks via both third-party digital download sites (such as iTunes, Amazon etc) and sometimes released those same tracks via his own 3rdeyegirl site. I must admit purchasing and downloading and instantly listening with my iphone via iTunes wirelessly over home wi-fi is definitely the simplest option for me.

Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Love Buttermilk. Grits N Gravy is kinda tight, too. I'm still undecided on Honey. Some things seem to work better than others about it. Espresso could use some new vocals. I'm not a fan of that jittery, sped up vocal sound, when DJ's take an existing vocal and speed up the tempo of the song. The groove is cool, though. I'd give it a B or B-.
