I like Frankenstein but have no idea why he put that in there. Oh well. That's Prince for ya.

You are not going to ever get that old feeling again. That's why its called an "old feeling". He has changed, u have changed, and the world has changed. Changed being the operative word. Most of us have enjoyed more than a couple of songs here and there. That's why we still follow him.

If you only sort of like a song here or there that is more a reflection on your taste than any reflection on Prince's output.

smile I agree with you tricky99. I love Prince's music because of the changes through the years. There is not anything of his music that I do not like at all. Sure, there are some of his works that I don't like as much as the others. Each song has its own personality. I really like the way he switches up his music, too. For instance, the difference between Let's Go Crazy from 1984 and its nearly manic pace & pop sound and 2013's Let's Go Crazy Reloaded slowed down rock version. I like both but am leaning more toward the Let's Go Crazy Reloaded for now.

No matter your age, pursue your dreams so that you will LIVE.

Like! thumbs up!

I honestly don't care if this will be a hit or not (never did anyway).

Somehow, it feels like Prince is starting anew. If I didn't know it's him, listening to Screwdriver and this new one, I would think it's some young talented guy trying to find his path in the business. I'm just curious to see where he's going this time, in the meanwhile, I'm enjoying it!

exactly. much as i like to complain about his new songs, i still buy them all if he sells them

and i'd like the option to buy this *now*, not 'soon'.

I actually don't think it's that bad. It's different. Prince isn't going to make another PR or IIWYG, so I think the mentality of "he ain't what he used to be" needs to be gotten over with. Yeah, this song may sound a little like a 54 year old appealing to the listeners who're 24, but he's trying to regain the broader audience he had in his heyday.

I'm just happy to have the priviledge to listen to new music. smile

I don't understand why so much good material is leaked and then this becomes the tune to send to radio.

Pure drivvle sad

Breakfast In Bed would have made the perfect song to send to radio

I tried to tell him, I ain't messin' with Itunes. hmph! I was starting to dig the 88 cents every so often thing.

It is crystal clear the 3EG website was once again an attempt to get fans enthusiastic, so Prince could shop his CD to a retailer and point out "see, lotsa people want this". Hence it stopped selling new music abruptly, hence the social media accounts basically stopped being active,...

Of course, if you look at the viewing figures of the 3EG videos, you realize how pathetic Prince's current undertaking is and I bet the sales numbers of the 3EG website have been equally underwhelming.

Another thread proving again Prince is one of the most diverse artist going. He plays a ton of different genres of music. Strict indie rock style sound is going to be polarizing, some fans always will prefer his other styles. Interesting to see some people loving it and some people just hating it.

Having read the negative comments before hearing it, I can really say only one thing: it's not that bad! I agree with everybody who says the lyrics are a cliche, but the guitar sound is good. Still not sure about a full album of this stuff though...

I didn't really care for LOL, but I'm liking this. Would sound great next to "Boom" in a show. I like the lyrics, the melody is cool, I like that it is unpredictable. Both the beginning and ending happen kind of strangely, which I think is a good thing. The only critique from me is that the chorus feels a bit lazy. But the other elements are good enough for me to forgive that. Let's get record out!!

As much as I love the song, I cannot get the image of Jason Priestley listening to "FIXURLIFEUP" and having a flashback to the early '90s when indie rock was big. The sound and lyrics sound like the kind of song that would have been played at the Peach Pit or used in the theme song. Fake teenage angst. Prince obviously digs fast power chords because he has been using them consistently since GOLD EXPERIENCE.

This song is actually not bad. Haven't really warmed to LOL but this one's got something. I have listened to it a number of times now and sometimes I like it and then not. I am not really into rock, maybe that's why. Has anyone else noticed a couple of spots in the song where it sounds like it has been cut?

Yes, that is recording of the stream this AM. The recording of the stream is not complete it sounds like it was recorded with a commodore 64, with skips and clicks.
