You should probably get that looked at.

And while thisisit is getting that looked at, he should also schedule surgery to remove his head from Prince's ass.

It is understandable why there appears to be a shocked reaction from some. Many are addicted to Prince, lol.

Thang is, get to the live shows, that where the thang is at. Share the experience, with others. It is beautiful.

Prince shows are a reminder to a generation caught up on image that instruments and human fingers can make delicious sounds

If what Dorian said is true (that Prince's comments were not taken out of context), then the correct course of action for Prince to take should be to apologise. He should just come out and say "Yeah, I said it. It was a brain fart. I didn't really think it through. Sorry. This is what I meant to say... blah blah". That's all he has to do. Be a man about it. It's no big deal then. We all have brain farts occasionally. But his complete denial of it just reeks of suspicion IMO.

Yeah, but why does it seem like he's ALWAYS having "brain farts" when he speaks to a journalist?? Very peculiar, to say the least. Hmmm... confused

Because Prince is a pussy. He would never have the balls to admit he said something wrong. Prince literally has zero shame and that directly extends to his opinions. If he thinks it to be true at any given moment - IT IS! And if he changes his mind later, he bashes his former self in an effort to make his -current- self look good. Case and point: His views on his past guitarwork - calling it shameful. What's shameful is his fucking demeanor and his classless and tacky nature.

Honestly, as interesting as it may be, what's the use of discussing and being aggrevated by Prince's words when not even the journalist remembers exactly what he said? Having studied some journalism I know that it's very easy to hear and interpret things the way your mind wants to, especially when ur only allowed to draw from your memory. Change one word and you can change the entire meaning of a sentence. So even if I wouldn't be totally surprised if Prince really said it like in the article, I would never use it as fact. Therefore it's a waste of time to be angry about this.

It is the journalist's job to print what he said. It is not the journalist's job to decipher the cluttered ramblings that are Prince's meaning.

So u support the oppression of women?

they're not cluttered ramblings to me, maybe thats because i have ears in my mind and a brain in my heart.

i find it amazing that some of you support lazy and careless journalists, in a day and age where they screw up the truth so badly, you could almost soley blame them, and the fools who believe whatever they read, for ruining collective consciousness and turning into a pile of ignorant mud.

y'all on some anti-prince tirade, calling him crazy. check ur own logic first maybe, ask urself if it's sane to spend ur time hating on him on an effing fan site.

Shut up already, damn.

It is the journalist's job to print what he said. It is not the journalist's job to decipher the cluttered ramblings that are Prince's meaning. The journalist is now supposed to read Prince's mind? You have absolutely no clue as to what journalism is. What the journalist wrote was what Prince said. What Prince said is the only truth that can be reported. If what you're looking for is for the journalist to tell you what Prince meant then you aren't looking for the truth at all. You're looking for the interpretation of the "truth" that makes you feel better about your icon.

If Prince wants to come off as some kind of philosopher, he really ought to learn to articulate his thoughts better. If that's not possible, he should either quit spouting off his pseudo-spiritual, quasi-political ideas, or be prepared for the backlash every time someone takes his words at face value when he comes off like a nut. Unfortunately for him, his intellect is a mile wide and an inch deep, so I don't really think there's much chance of him coming off any better if he were to articulate his beliefs better.

Well said clapping

it is so sad to read so much negative post on prince. his impact on the music industry is never ending. we want more and more from him but if he didn't release anything else he can't take back what he already gave. i still think it's selfish of him (no more albums) but i'm one of the ones who want more and more from him.

thanks prince

Michael Hann June 28th, 2011 - 09:14 Hi, I’m the editor who commissioned the piece from Dorian. There’s a further issue that explains the indisputable differences between the Guardian’s interview and Le Parisien’s. Not only has their interview been conducted in a second language, and then translated into the writer’s mother tongue, it’s then been further translated back into English for the version that appears above. Anyone who’s ever played the game where you use web translation tools to take a favourite song lyric, translate it into another language, then back into English knows that the final result is unlikely to bear much relation to the original. By the way, YouNowWho and Friend, there is of course no circumstance in which a newspaper with an international readership in the tens of millions would compromise its journalism by taking an editorial line from a group of people on a fan site. It just doesn’t happen. As Dorian says, there was no agenda: we at the Guardian were as surprised as anyone by what he had to say.

of course i support the oppression of women. i think ALL women should wear burqas, especially the ugly ones, cuz let's 'face' it, who wants to look at that shit?

us big dick men will continue to strut around with our cocks out and screw up the whole universe more than we already have! wont that be grand?

do you like my new sidepiece andy aloe vera? aint she somethin? she's not in the band because i genuinely dig her work and vibe, its not because i want to encourage and support her,

i just put her there to make me look good, and so far, it's working! poof! another career gone. but that's okay, she wasnt going anywhere anyway!

i also think digital music is fantastic. it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside i get a hard-on whenever i hear it. i especially love the commercial stuff on the radio with a signal to noise ratio of 'what-the-fuck'.

it really tickles my one remaining neuron.

and by the way, loveless societies rule. everyone swims around in their own sickly hateful negative. i mean why not? we're all gonna die anyway so lets poison each other as much as we can! hundalasiliah!

pro oppression of women, pro digital music, pro noise, and definitely pro a loveless world.

now THATS how we make the world a better place!

As a long term PRINCE fan I am SURPRISED at his COMMENT on BURKAS and the MUSLIM FAITH. Is PRINCE soon going to become a MUSLIM? I do not think PRINCE should COMMENT on what MUSLIM WOMEN SHOULD WEAR. Many MUSLIMS and ESPECIALLY WOMEN are KEPT DOWN. I feel it INSENSITIVE of PRINCE to STATE SOME PEOPLE COMPLAIN or are UNHAPPY about EVERYTHING. I think FREEDOM and ESPECIALLY WOMEN'S RIGHT should be RESPECTED! I think it ODD for a PERFORMER who has had WOMEN in his BAND as a DRUMMER and NOW has WOMEN in his band playing Guitars and Bass guitars to make such a STATEMENT. It is a MALE CHAUVANIST PIG ATTITUDE. People and ESPECIALLY WOMEN are not BELOW or suppose to be SUBSERVIANT . Where does PRINCE come OFF talking about ORDER? This is REPRESSION. I love his Music, but sometimes the comments coming from his mouth sounds like he is MISINFORMED OR ON DRUGS. They make no SENSE for anyone INTELLECTUAL. I wish he would EXPLAIN or just not go there so to speak.

Also, in Defense of Prince he used to really LOVE ANI DI FRANCO so I do not think someone who is O>K> with Bi-SEXUAL women and GAY women actually is feeling women are SUBSERVIANT. Also, I do not think his Band Members would want to be associated with someone who thought women should be CONTROLLED or LACKING FREEDOM. I mean he has Bald -Headed SHELBY who is CLEARLY a DOMINANT. So really these comments make NO SENSE at ALL!

Well, from a more detailed perspective, it sounds like Prince was actually coyly criticizing the French government from exercising too much control over personal freedom, specifically he seemed to be addressing their recent move to outlaw Muslim women from wearing identity concealing garb even if they are protesting in favor of their right to wear what they want to to practice their religion.

I think you have may have completely misunderstood what was said in that interview, and then formed a judgement based in your mistaken belief of what Prince said.

It's fascinating that despite this information having been revealed, people are still jumping to judgement based on misinformation! The power of "legit" publication compounded with the tendency to judge without knowledge has the momentum of a tsunami wave.
