Are we REALLY going spend time deliberating whether there will ever be new Prince music? AGAIN? how many times has he said he's not going to record or release any new music? Quite a few. Prince has even retired once or twice, remember? Looking forward to a new album.

That man ain't retiring from recording. I heard that same bull jive in 1990-something (forgot which) and he's said this since post-Purple Rain. ohgoon He'll be back with a new record in 2012 anyways. lol

Right ... I don't think he's 'retiring' from recording either but, I really question if he's gonna not put out another album, that worries me a bit (then again, it doesn't) ...

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

I love Prince, but wow dude - seriously? Religion forced upon people and saying that's a good thing, to take their personal freedoms away? eek

And it's just sad as hell to me to think he's never gonna release any more music, I just REALLY hope that's NOT true.

And why did the reporter say Prince no longer sees sex as the be all, end all? I think they aren't really familiar with his work; yes, Prince's music has a LOT of sexually-explicit content; I was just talking to a friend about this a day or two ago, his music is absolutely not for prudes or people who can't handle sexual content - but at the same time, his music was never JUST about sex. So I never really understood people who immediately associate Prince ONLY with sex.

my back is seared with scars from the stabbings of much more powerful men than prince.

petty gripes over prince's struggle with the english language make me feel sad for 'those who', after how many years? still dont realise what he's really saying.

should a poet change the way they communicate just because his readers dont understand poetry?

i think not. but thats just my opinion.

Wow this is just ridiculous. lol

Petty gripe? It ain't that deep. When prince wants to be understood and not misunderstood, he speaks clear as a bell. When he doen'ts, he speaks in Princespeak. Poetry to you, total BS to some. Maybe it was cool and deep when I was 15 years old but i'm over 40 now and don't have time to waste trying to figure out what someone is trying to say/saying anymore.

Mine is also an opinion. Guess you missed that part.

thumbs up!

Like hell. This is pure bullshit. No way he's gonna be able to stay out of the game for long. Though, everything he's done in the past 10 years hasn't made any sense. if he has problems with piracy, the maybe he should put his music on iTunes. Not my personal preference, but that;s how most people get their music if they don't use the index-finger discount. And if he doesn't like digital music, there's a simple solution to that. Release it on vinyl, as well as digital formats. That way old fart audiophiles like himself ( sad) can be satisfied. Anyways, there's nothing to be worried about yet. He just hasn't got any plans as of now. There's no garuantee that he's gone. In fact, I think that within the next year or two he'll realize what a big mistake he's made.

I agree with his right to make statements of any kind.

Why is it that orgers can be as demeaning, rude and offensive as they want when posting then hide behind the 5th amendment but Prince has to have all of his comments pre-approved by the 'moral majority'.

The Fifth Amendment? What the heck are you talking about? Are we on trial here? lol

My question for you is, why do you feel the need to defend Prince? You know that a lot of people on the org don't like his behavior. Is he a personal friend of yours? If not, why do you care? He certainly doesn't.

Ya know, I'm really over all this nonsense. He will or he won't (regarding a whole bunch of "stuff") and there's obviously nothing any of us can do about it. Except, there is. We could stop going to his shows over and over and over again to hear the same songs he said he was going to stop playing, oh, I don't know, ten years ago. Thing is, people are still going to the shows over and over and over again, even most of the people who complain. Soooo shrug whatever.

I predict a very ignominious end for Prince, whenever that will be.

It's hard to take seriously any statements about never recording again. But, it's also hard to care. The muse left this man at least a decade ago. His music doesn't generate my interest anymore, although I remain very interested in his past work.

He has expressed highly conservative views before. This Islamic stuff herein shouldn't suprise.

All this makes me very curious about the people in Prince's world. He has had to voice some of these view points before. what do they do eek ? Do they say nothing because he has all the money and signs their check? I just can not imagine any friend of mine going off on these tangents without my expressing a strong opinion of my own.

Meanwhile I always thought that Prince would make a better Muslim that a Jehovah's Witness anyday. He can not settle on one woman and he most deffinately needs to have the final say. Many Muslim woman dress in figure flattering outfits underneath the pup tent they wear. (

And they often have long thick black hair, large dark eyes and medium skin tones.)

I don't know if anyone else said this yet but Jehovah Witnesses are not fond of Muslim beliefs.

There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least. Very fun album, but lightweight like a goodbye card.

LotusFlower was his best guitar album since Purple Rain, but it didn't do anything.

The circle is full.

I don't see where he would go next, but I'm all up for it.

I'm new, I haven't read all posts, cuz it's to much for me now, so probably i would say something, what was said.

I don't understand why Prince is doing this everything - deleting all materials about him. He hurts himself. sad I think, that he would regret that in a future. People, who haven't got any ocasions to see him in the Internet, will forget about him. I mean about many young people, who don't even know who is he!. We've got 21'st century - if you are not in the Internet, you don't exist. That's shame.

I've liked him for a few years. I'm 18 and I discovered him by accident, when I saw his clip on TV. I would like to watch his videos in the Net, cuz I couldn't do it f.ex. 20 years ago. I would like to have his CD's or DVD's but now I have a big problem to find some materials about him. That's frustrating for me, and not only me. mad

His music is cultural property like f.ex. Picasso's paintings. How would it looks, if Picasso would go to the museum and say: "This is my property and I want it back." He couldn't do it. Why Prince can?. Maybe stupid example, but I feel it this way.

He want to fight with piracy, but I think, that in this battle he is beaten.

I love him and I love his music, he's great artist but his behaviour is really annoying and it's sad for me. Like he doesn't really care about his fans - us... sad

Sorry for my english, I'm still learning.

Greetings from Poland. biggrin

I agree with a lot of the posts here. It has always been about the music to me. Not sure how I feel about it. I still enjoy watching him play guitar, but his views of the world - who knows. Prince, you want quiet, come back to the land 10,000 lakes, rent a cabin up north and only bring your accoustic...write some songs!
