Speaking for myself. I did a $500 VIP seat on the 12/18 show. Went with a beautiful friend on 12/29 for $200 and then went for $99.00 in February. The VIP was a treat to myself and so were the multiple shows. It's not for everyone. Some in my crew did all 6 of the NYC/NJ shows and felt the deficit in their stacks! BTW I'm rich but keep it a secret between us! When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Spinlight. I did all of that and still vacationed for 2 weeks in Hawaii in January for my birthday. So I am well within my financial means and it's all cool. To quote Prince "I'm making mozzarella while the haters make waste!" I liked the performances, but didn't feel like Prince was really in top form vocally. Then I listened to "The Beautiful Ones" with some reverb added - I can do that conveniently with my system - and it sounded a lot better to me. So I think the performance that we got was lacking the reverberated sound we've gotten used to on the recorded version. Especially the screams he does at the end of the song would definitely need that.

Good performances, boring interview. How many years has that "1000 songs in the vault/a song a day" statistic been brought up?
And re: covers - if Lopez had any awareness of Prince's more recent music, he could have asked Prince, if by his logic, the covers he's recorded no longer belong to their originators.

Prince and Misty are totally in love. If you can't see that you have to check your eye sight. Not only is she the type of chick Prince prefers, she's a dancer like Mayte, she's young, and he's looking very happy.
I think for Prince there is a resemblance to Mayte, and we all know how in love they were`?
Prince I will always miss and love U.

I have been working all week so I just got to watch the show. Most of us complain about him never doing the newer songs and when he does we still complain. I thought he looked and sounded great. Lay Down was awesome. Not his best vocals ever on the beautiful ones but still damn good. I thought he should have done more than just slide on that piano. Still a beautiful performance and great interview. His outfits look more freaky again. Way better than the plain suits. He just needs to come on to MS, New Orleans, and Alabama.

Anyone ever hear of a performance/release called: Prince and the Revolution: LIVE! ? Of course you have.
Well the vocals on THAT performance of The Beautiful Ones were shite compared to Lopez Tonight. I don't understand what people are complaining about, per usual.

I'm finding these posts about how fine Prince looks for his age quite amusing, like he is the only person on earth who has a fine physique at 50+ .
Is it that uncommon for people to have the same build as they grow older than they did in their twenties?
I'm not a kick in the arse from 40 years old, and I have the same physique now as I did when I was 20. My body feels older but it does not look it. Few more facial wrinkles though.

After watching this video about 20 times and still not being tired of it, I realize that there are some real freaks who visit this site. Freaks who cannot be pleased. Freaks who think Prince should get back with Wendy and Lisa. Freaks who just don't know or appreciate how you unique and phenomenal this man is. Complaining about how they've heard "Laydown" before and it's not new. Freaks complaining about how a 120 pound man looks fat or how a 53 year old man looks old. Shut up! Please!
I'm not a Prince "homer." If he does something bad, I'll be the first to say it. This George Lopez stuff is some of the best television anywhere. It's one of the best Prince performances on a tv show, where he normally doesn't do his best work.
There is so much energy in that place that it's palpable.
Look people, some of you need to get a grip. Chill out. Prince proves on this show that he is still the man. There's never been anyone like him and there won't ever be again.
Go watch "This is it" and get your thrills there.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. The show was great! And I'm grateful he gave the grace of his appearance to George Lopez Tonight. I didn't understand either why Prince chose GLT, but after his explanation, I totally agreed with him. George was of course welcoming and funny and made Prince come out of his interviee shell with his Latino cracks, lol.
It almost made me cry when Prince admitted much his stuff was stolen when questioned about his first guitar. Makes me think about the Del's Tire Mart incident he was proably referring to when he was first putting his band together for the 1st time. Everyone, and even me, was like 'awwww'. Truly sad.
But anyway, he looked flawless and he rocked the freakin stage like a BOSS. See how he came out during Laydown?! Pure rock and hard core. He was truly sexy. His red velvet interviewing outfit was even more cooler, too. I enjoyed the whole show! Thanks Prince 4 hitting up American TV! Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

Yeah they both suck. Your point? Lol.

Yes I agree with you. There's is no way Prince looks fat--totally far from it. I saw him perform at MSG and when he opened his shirt, his abs looked tight and the audience had a great view of it on the jumbo screens. You can see he takes care of himself physically. I remember bqck in 2008, he was looking way too skinny, but now he looks just fine weight-wise. The man looks great physically, better than many 20/30/40 year old males I see everyday out in the public. Many Americans are overweight at such a young age. It's scary when you see high school students looking like they're over 200 pounds at such a young age.
I guess some folks on the Org just need to have something to complain about to make it through their day or are just overly-critical for the sake of it. Must be miserable being them. [Edited 4/15/11 7:02am]

Ok... so to wrap things up... some of you loved it. Some of you hated it. Some of you wish Shelby would go away. Cool got it. The negativity here is just overwhelming. This better antonb and PurpleSpirit319

Twenty to forty isn't difficult. The 40s are the killer decade. That's when your hormones (for men and women alike) go into the crapper. Makes it much tougher to maintain - without a lot more work.
If you make it to 53 without even a little belly, you will have my heartiest congratulations. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Oh. So i'm not doing as well as I thought.....LOL. Mind you, my dad was always slim even into his old age. Maybe i'll be lucky.

Of course! I loved it. Much better than if he would've been on other late night show, where the people barely know from anything besides Purple Rain and have bland, industry discussion. Prince wasn't avoidant in anything and you could tell George was trying his hardest to remember his questions for the legend And let's not foget George, he did awesome as well for interviewing, and kept everything freshs and running [Edited 4/15/11 7:14am] Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. I'm not saying you won't still be slim. Your body type won't change. Things will probably just get a little...well..."loose." If you know what I mean. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yeah, I didn't want to get nasty. I was just surprised to see all of the negative comments. I thought the man looked good and sounded great. It just gets old hearing so many people complain and talk about yesteryear. All we have is now...and when it comes to Prince and this appearance, now is more than enough.
