So they don't play Prince music, they just blather on about Prince for x-minutes? Riveting, I'm sure.

In all honesty, how would a podcast where Prince fans discuss Prince and his music be any more or less boring than a website where fans do the same? Sure, it's not for everyone, and I don't always listen to the full show, but it's like the org...if they're covering a topic I'm interested in, I check it out.

and your basis? And did you listen to it? If I was going to fake something I would have not said that there was one woman that that I did not know. But really there is nothing in that podcast that makes me think it was made up. If anything it was Prince that was making things up.

actually, I did listen to it. I just thought some of the things said and done were a little too good to be true. the remasters thing is a complete lie as copyright law in the US lasts 50 years not 30 years, I dont see where Prince would get the time or inclination to remaster a load of records he sees as
blasphemous and "mistakes" and just the general vibe of the whole thing was "lie".

anyway, its just my opinion.

Is this a conspiracy theory? lol

Exactly. I listened to it while I was on these boards and found far less interesting topics being discussed here. If Wall hates podcasts, no big deal, but to derogate Peach And Black's efforts and its listeners seems a tad unnecessary and altogether strangely curious.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Yeah, I hate podcasts. How can I, I'm the one guy on the internet who doesn't know what they are.

No hard feelings.

Bottom line. The Peach and Black podcast only shows how desperate we are for Prince news. The podcast would have been more interesting if there was a photo, audio or Prince talking or an unreleased song. But as it stands....it's not really anything significant. I am not going out of my way to listen to them again, I feel like the show was desperate in it's production.

Hell, I have had more interesting converations and experinces with Prince at his private parties. And I am sure there are many others here who have as well. SO WHAT!!!

Well, I've never had an interesting conversation with Prince and I don't personally know anyone who has. I've enjoy reading the "have you talked to Prince" threads that occasionally pop up.If you made a podcast relating your experiences, I'd probably listen to that too (mind you, after your comments, the production of your amateur podcast had better be top notch wink).

I admit that this show and the Top 20 show are the only ones I've had a chance to listen to thus far, but I've really enjoyed them. They're not really trying to be anything - they're just a group of fans offering interesting views and facts along with some music and, in this case, the story of an evening spent with Prince, which most people would think would be something every Prince fan would want to hear.

Of course, if you've already been privy to such an opportunity, I guess it wouldn't be that exciting.

Well thank you for your insight. I guess I am too impatient, maybe that's why I read....I read fast. And when I record awards shows, I speed through the talking parts and get to the music!

Well, I guess I am not a pod cast kind of guy. Although I feel strange saying that because I use to do 900 rock music news lines and thats essentially the same thing. But you had to get to the point or you would piss people off who are paying you.

I don't mind being baited, but if I wait it better be good. In this case I did not feel it was. If it was an actual Prince interview or music. Cool. But it was about some things that will probably never happen, which left me wondering if this even happened.

Hmmm let me see..

Getting his masters back each year, eventual release of remasters, audiences dictating the setlists at shows, 20ten Deluxe, new albums waiting to be released, releasing future albums with ticket sales.... all talked about in an honest and frank discussion.

Looks like the same thing to me.

Not to mention - the Peach & Black Podcast didn't even have an 'interview', it was just a chat which they shared with us.

You're basically implying that they are lying? Correct me if I got it wrong. My last post was supposed to be more general.

How do you get that from what I said ?

I said that alot of the things covered in the interview were covered in their 'chat'.

Their podcast came out weeks before the interview. That proves they are NOT lying.

(Not that I ever doubted them like some dopes on here.)

I have no idea how you got the total opposite meaning from that.

I think the Volksklrant interview totally validates the podcast encounter with the information and topics covered.

Now, whether Prince is telling a few porkies these days is a totally different thing altogether.

I listened to about 1/2 the show and was fast forwarding to this or that but, this tread seem to sum up what they were talking about. The show wasn't TERRIBLE just a lil long winded. I was thinkin' they would've threw in some music just to change the 'tone' ... I was wrong ... LoL

Bit late on this... haven't plugged in for a long while. Anyway, finally heard the podcast - very cool. I was listening to it shopping in the supermarket and literally cracke dup at Captain's tony m comment. People thought I was losing it! (by the way, the best way to listen to podcasts, I find, is while you're doing something mundane - hanging out washing, shopping, driving, doing dishes etc. - that's how i've heard all the P&B podcasts so far...)

I love listening to the boys - it's partly nostalgia for Oz, but they're somehow addictive. I often disagree with them, and sometimes want to shout things out that they're missing but the discussions are fun to listen to. i wouldn't cancel an engagement for it, or even set aside time, but it makes me go out of my way to do chores I'd otherwise avoid just to have more time to listen - and that's a double bonus!

When I think about this 'conversation', the Dutch newspaper interview, plus the recent radio spot he did in NYC - it seems we are looking at a 'new' Prince.

Something has happened, he can give (mostly) coherent answers to questions these days, maybe he decided the whole 'mysterious enigma' character was dead.

Anyway, I am more glad than anyone that he chose the Peach & Black podcast to 'premiere' this new persona. Hope he sticks around for a while smile

Interesting...

We were more surprised than anyone at his openness and willingness to answer our questions without the usual cryptic mystery schtick.

So, definitely I think something has changed in his life, no idea what that might be, but he seems very happy and content these days.
