sorry about that, (re profile) that was my little brother having some fun at my expense, I will now go and kill him. Profile duly updated. Although, I dont see the connection between my profile and my comment. My comment still stands, and I beleive I am right until someone disproves me.

lol... your brother's funny. I remember when a kid sneaked on my facebook and had me join NAMBLA. I must be on a watchlist.

I'm just curious as to why you disbelieve the account.

You know, why would you choose to jump to disbelief? Prince has interacted with fans before, even fan club people. He sometimes has chosen to contact them and work with them. And lately he even made a song "Funk" in response to all the conflict with Housequake.com.

And that was all with contact and providing official directives to the people that ran housequake... which of course led to the owner shutting it down in protestand disgust.

Prince has directly interacted with people I personally know... even jumping on the phone with one girl to joke with her when she was talking to Morris Hayes (who had collected her number at an after party). He's real, and he's always trying new ways to relate or promote.

Remember the celebrations? He would sometimes walk right by. Alone. No bodyguards. The pre concert Q&A's with fans (sitting right with everyone)? He sometimes decides to be accessible and communicate directly.

2 to 3 or 5 or 10 shows in the same area is NOT A TOUR. and was it ever officially called a tour by Prince or its organizers? I do not recall that word being on the poster? I could be wrong.

But then again even if he came to my town I would pass, I have seen him too many times to spend the money or take the time.

I don't think we should get too hung up on labels.

Technically, a tour would mean travelling to at least one place away from home. so it would be a tour if, like this year, visited many different European countries, be it 2, 3, 5 or 10. There is no where where it says a tour has to officially be labeled a tour before it is one.

The official gold tour took in only 2 countries and 5 cities. Less that Prince's efforts this summer. It was still a tour.

And the Earth Tour was officially a tour, even though it was actually a residency.

The 1986 concerts were actually "Hit and Run" shows. But they are now labeled as the Hit and Run or Parade tour.

History will record that Prince toured for 20ten in Europe. The word "tour" doesn't need to be on the posters.

History will also record that Prince performed a "Welcome 2 America" tour in the U.S. Its no different that the Earth Tour in London.

I think most people will just be glad he is performing. biggrin

Yeah, and they spent a shit load of money just to fly (air fare ain't cheap) to NYC to do a show, right?? .........

I listened to the show as well as other folks here. These guys are legit.

If you don't believe it then that's fine, that's your opinion and that's all it is .... your opinion - not fact.

If you can literally prove without a shadow of a doubt that this is what they did, just to promote their podcast then I'll believe you.

Exactly. People who were at the Apollo standing outside, saw these guys standing in front of the Apollo that day.

I guarantee Prince will NOT release the older, revamped music. For one, I think he spends so much time on new music that it would take forever to get a deal to release these albums. "If" it were to happen, it would probably happen when Prince actually retires from making music. He would then have time to make this happen.

Just because these guys that sound like the lost members of Spinal Tap say it will be released or think it will doesn't mean it will.

P has been doing shows on short notice for years.

Less than a week is not short notice. That's called having a brainfart.

We are in a bad economy in case your head as been in the sand so I think these little mini-tours or shows are happening to prevent finacial failure does not seem so silly when you think about it.

Hilarious. Organizing concerts on short-term = HIGHER COSTS. Wanna know why companies plan stuff months/years in advance? To SAVE money!

Lemme see:

- last-minute plane travel = more expensive

- getting a hotel room at the last minute = more expensive

Oh wait, you were talking about how this was hurting PRINCE's wallet!

(And let's not forget that Prince can't even be arsed to REHEARSE a decent show. Remember how in the past he would rehearse for MONTHS and deliver a fantastic show? Remember how his bands were awesome and could tackle countless styles? These days he's dismissing people while on tour! And you gotta love him boasting about having "so many hits" -- and then playing the exact same ones he's been playing for 15 years.)

The one thing that bugs the hell out of me is the fact that he says that and then we end up getting the same old 3 sly stone tracks along with hair, stratus, whole lotta love, crazy, rock steady... blah blah...

Play your own damn music, you've got enough of it!! rant over.

& bottom line, I agree with erik319, it would be most excellent if P would play his own music and not covers of other artist music. After-all, it is a Prince & The NPG Concert or Prince concert.

Go figure ...

Bottom line. The Peach and Black podcast only shows how desperate we are for Prince news. The podcast would have been more interesting if there was a photo, audio or Prince talking or an unreleased song. But as it stands....it's not really anything significant. I am not going out of my way to listen to them again, I feel like the show was desperate in it's production.

Hell, I have had more interesting converations and experinces with Prince at his private parties. And I am sure there are many others here who have as well. SO WHAT!!!

What are these podcasts for? Please don't tell me it's just Prince fans playing Princely tracks. I'm going to go out on a limb and presume everyone here can already drag and drop their favorite Prince songs into their mp3 player of choice without needing assistance from a podcast. Then again...

last minute is not always more expensive. In fact if you wait until justr before a flight takes off you can sometimes get crazy deals. Same with hotel rooms.

I am thinking the same holds for a last minute concert (think the 86 shows where they would announce at noon a Prince show that night at 8Pm and that tickets would go on sale at 2PM. One man was interviewed that said he heard it and was close to the venue and when there with no money got in line then sold his place in line got back in line and got tickets!) If the place is empty and they get a call that morning for show that night, I do not see why they would charge that much more. And that amount would be absorbed by ticket costs. (also some venues make the most money off of concessions)

also, we should not confuse last minute announcements with a last minute arrangement to do a show.

Well, I've never had an interesting conversation with Prince and I don't personally know anyone who has. I've enjoy reading the "have you talked to Prince" threads that occasionally pop up.If you made a podcast relating your experiences, I'd probably listen to that too (mind you, after your comments, the production of your amateur podcast had better be top notch wink).

I admit that this show and the Top 20 show are the only ones I've had a chance to listen to thus far, but I've really enjoyed them. They're not really trying to be anything - they're just a group of fans offering interesting views and facts along with some music and, in this case, the story of an evening spent with Prince, which most people would think would be something every Prince fan would want to hear.

Of course, if you've already been privy to such an opportunity, I guess it wouldn't be that exciting.

Opened any other fortunes cookies lately?

Please, tell me what I'm missing here. From what I gather, it's an incredibly boring podcast because people in this thread couldn't be bothered to listen to the first 30 minutes. I've also seen someone starting threads, asking for requests for a Prince podcast (which boggles the mind--though I'd not put it past some drooling fams to be unable to figure out how to make their own mp3 playlist), so I presume this groundbreaking 'interview' is from the same, and I've never used the word more lightly, program.

No hard feelings.

Do you have any idea what you are even talking about ? This is the 2nd time you have mentioned putting together an mp3 playlist with a podcast.

The two have absolutely NOTHING to do with each other so get some education before you make yourself look ever more ignorant than you already have thus far.

Yes maybe a few people posted in this thread that they didn't like it.

Obviously over 5,000 listeners so far on that particular podcast and the supporters who have posted positive comments in this thread disagree.

I like how you pick out the few people who didn't like it and focus on them when the majority of comments are supportive and positive.

Thanks for proving yet again the stereotype of the typical orger.

How would my statement lead you to think that? So they don't play Prince music, they just blather on about Prince for x-minutes? Riveting, I'm sure. I've seen someone here ask for song requests for their show, maybe I'm conflating two programs.
