it's no point trying to mask flaws with amateurish EQ-'ing - it only makes things sound worse. For this reason, "We Can Funk" is pretty unlistenable and I actually prefer the previously circulating lower grade version of this mix. Go see a doctor, something's terribly wrong with your ears. I edited my post to put "terrible Quality" in speech marks as I know for a fact someone on here will actually think I meant it.
I've had the disc on heavy rotation for days and I keep spotting things I never noticed before on each subsequent listen. I have already listened to it more than I have listened to these officially released albums: NEWS Planet Earth Indigo Nights Kamasutra MPLSouNd blah blah blah

I dont know what else I can add 2 this thread without repeating what's already been said...but this release is the bee's knees, the cat's pajamas and the horse's foreskin! The absolute highlight 4 me is "Wonderful Ass". Everytime a new source would circulate, I thought I had the bomb, like the versions from the bootlegs "Electric Intercourse:the Anthology" and "Bright Eyes In the Vault". But this version of "Wonderful Ass" is the clearest I've ever heard it. I've never even noticed Wendy and Lisa's banter in the background during Prince's ad libs toward the end. Thank U 2 the freer of this release!

You're not paying attention. Read again, and again until it sinks in, because you're so far off base, you're in another world on this one.

With all respect to your opinion, keep listening to your previous recordings. I've had a copy of all these cuts since the late 80's and I am astounded by the improvement to them since then! I, personally, don't think it has anything to do with equalizing and/or "remastering". Now I ask: who's the woman singing "duet" on "Wonderful Ass"??? (never recognized it before) Prost! I only hope there's another tape somewhere with
In A Large Room, Big Tall Wall, Neon Telephone, Joy in Repetiton with the great intro Heaven with the intro intact and the third version of Witness. All in the same stunning quality. [Edited 3/14/10 14:53pm]

Prince isn't "secretly releasing" bootlegs, period.
All these songs come from tapes he gave 2 people or that were stolen by employees b4 he stopped giving tapes and maximized Paisley Park's security in 1996. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Like most, I am enjoying the quality Of this boot!
I have listened to Wonderful Ass easily 50 times since Friday. I hope this wakes him up and he realizes that as more of these old boots get upgraded to this type of quality and sound, he loses any chance to make money on releasing any of this on his own from the vault.

I always love those old boots, Crucial, Charade, Purple Underground. Choclate box was one of my first boots, I had it on tape summer of 1990, thats when I started to get hardcore, I even missed the England world Cup quarter final because I had Prince tickets. I still have my vinyl copy of Chocolate Box. Terrible quality, but it had those clandestine tracks on it - it didn't say "Prince" on it anywhere. It was the second boot I purchased after The Black Album on vinyl. Nice!! RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I'm glad you said that. I would love to have a clear copy of "Our Destiny". The version I have is muffled, and I can't really understand what Prince is singing. But I love the melody! RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

sometimes musicians hand out mixes and edits but DO NOT KEEP THEM .. ive erased and thrown out boxes and boxes of rehearsals and master tapes etc... i am sure prince didnt always keep some of those early mixes .. so u never know .. maybe some of these tunes he does not actually have a clear copy of himself .. eg. lots o times with analog tape was actually cut when editing losing any thing near convenience in returning to its original form thus u may have some tape of a rough mix that prince cut up and cant put back together again ... or he erases a vocal he didnt like but may have been on an early rough mix ... u cant reproduce that .. just some food for thought
