Ok, i must be tripping somehow but i can't hear any difference in Dorothy Parker. I thought it would be the extended version but un4tunately it ain't. What's the difference???
Also with Starfish & Coffee the difference is that melodic synth in the background isn't it? I never noticed it like that in the album mix. Except 4 that it's really cool 2 have the songs with that quality!!! A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

I always love those old boots, Crucial, Charade, Purple Underground. Choclate box was one of my first boots, I had it on tape summer of 1990, thats when I started to get hardcore, I even missed the England world Cup quarter final because I had Prince tickets. I still have my vinyl copy of Chocolate Box. Terrible quality, but it had those clandestine tracks on it - it didn't say "Prince" on it anywhere. It was the second boot I purchased after The Black Album on vinyl. I still have the vinyl too. This was my very first Prince boot.

It's great to finally have "Wonderful Ass" in high quality. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

The DigitalGarden review is in...
http://www.thedigitalgard...lates.html Box Of Chocolates 1 CDR Label: Free Boot Generation Cat No: #FBG 029 Running Time: 47:12 Source: Studio Recordings Quality: EX+ Released: March 2010 Outtakes / Alternate Versions / Unreleased Various Years I’ll come right out and say it. This is superb. Utterly superb. Just when you think there are few surprises left in the bootleg world, this appears from nowhere and takes your breath away. I don’t think I can stress enough just how good this is or how important a release it is. These are not re-hashed outtakes from other bootlegs or tweaked versions of ones we’ve all had for a while. These are completely new sources, all taken from much lower generation tapes that have lay gathering dust for years and the difference to anything that has gone before is vast, to say the least. To hear some of my favourite outtakes in this quality, after years of making do with the muddied versions of old, quite literally leaves me grinning from ear to ear. I make no apologies for my ‘we’re not worthy’ style worshipping to Free Boot Generation. I adore this bootleg, pure and simple. You should know all the songs well by now and I doubt there are any fans or collectors who don’t. Tracks like ‘The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker’ and ‘ Starfish & Coffee’ are the original versions intended for use on the abandoned ‘Dream Factory’ project, although differences are slight, in fact the opening half of this disc lends itself heavily to those sessions. Fan favourite (and certainly one of mine) ‘Wonderful Ass’ is a joy to behold in such high quality and has been on repeat on my player for the best part of a week already. There’s little point talking in depth about these songs. We know them well. But if I haven’t made it clear already, I guarantee that you will not have heard them sounding this good before. Ever. This is studio quality right here and the added polish from FBG has been just the right amount to bring out the best in them. I can’t fault it at all and the team deserve some high praise indeed. We’ve had some real treats already this year (and I’m sure there are many more to come) and it may only be March... BUT I will stick my neck on the line right now by saying this is already shaping up to be ‘bootleg of the year’. Stunning and essential, the bar has just been raised. Again. -thedigitalgarden.org If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

01 - Witness 4 the Prosecution
02 - Movie Star 03 - A Place in Heaven 04 - The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker 05 - Starfish and Coffee 06 - Girl O' My Dreams 07 - Cant Stop This Feeling I Got 08 - We Can Funk 09 - Data Bank 10 - Wonderful Ass 11 - All Day All Night ***** All those songs were already circulating in excellent sound anyway. I'm not suprised at this tracklist as, bar 'Dorothy Parker' and 'Starfish', I made exactly the same one, largely because of the available sound quality. The 'Dream Factory' Remaster is out there for free in brilliant quality. That includes many of these tracks (as well as 'Train' and others) which IMO won't be bettered. DJ Foefur, has amazing remastered songs such as 'Rebirth of the Flesh', 'The Sex of It', 'Extraloveable', 'Dance with the Devil' and more also. I appreciate this release is free (which I think is fantastic) and the efforts of those who put it together, but I don't consider it the 'unprecedented' bootleg that it seems to be garnering here.

They have before been circulating in very decent sound quality but not excellent sound quality.

It is a joy to hear 'Wonderful Ass' especially in it's best widely circulating quality yet
But really, we're still doing the "I think Prince put this out there" thing in this thread? Come on now!

Some nice upgrades, but some cack-handed mastering and attempts to improve on the source material. I don't want to appear to be ungrateful as I'm not, but if the source isn't exacty perfect, it's no point trying to mask flaws with amateurish EQ-'ing - it only makes things sound worse. For this reason, "We Can Funk" is pretty unlistenable and I actually prefer the previously circulating lower grade version of this mix.
