The lyrics are allright.
But the music? Hmmm,I hope the sound is better on

I never complained a lot about Prince, I was happy that he still released music
even if that golden era would never come back.
He has given me so much joy with his music since the 80's,
and I still enjoy his music these days.
(just rediscoverd The Family album somewhere on the internet,
Mutiny & High Fashion...damn good times AND good music)

But I just don't like the light-rock he puts out the last decade.
In fact I never liked a lot of those rock songs since Ronnie talk to..
The few I liked were Play in the sunshine and Can't stop this feeling. 2bad 4 me, because on each cd he releases there are more and more
of these songs : Cinnemon girl, the one U wanna C, the marrying kind and so on.

I do like some parts of the guitar and the last minute of the song but
I prefer real ROCK : Fury,Let's go crazy, Guitar... but not the pophoplightrock.

listened a few more times today after staying away from it for a few days. I think my dissatisfaction with it mostly comes down to the vocal. the "heys" work alright, even though they make me cringe. but mostly it's that his voice sounds lazy or he's trying to keep up. really dislike that style he sings the title in.

musically, the track is pretty good, if still a little schizo. i hope this is a demo. it needs to be either beefed up or stripped down, i'm not sure. as is, it's both bloated and hollow.

though i've really liked most of his pop rock in recent years, this kind of falls short. i think he's trying to throw too many ideas in this one at the same time, but it all still comes off as sounding a bit flat.

there's a lot of potential in it if he'd scrap this recording and start from scratch. if this is just some quickie he belched out of the studio in an afternoon, fine. if it's the title track and lead single for some project, then it needs a massive re-think.

The part with the filtered voice (this is NOT autotune, people) has been mixed rather poorly.... too much on the high end and it makes the vocals crack in the speakers if you listen loudly

But this is someone who has been signed to a contract with Sony records and is in the industry....but is now free of that and is finishing up his first independant CD. So good for him. I applaud his efforts and independance. but Prince paved the way for other artists to do partake of that option.

As far as age goes...bottom line is...I can take my pick of a younger man, or I can pick an older man... or someone my own age.
I am at the perfect age to be free to do just as I please.

Personally, I do prefer someone that can provide me with the mental stimulation I need and crave ..someone I can feel comfortable talking to about anything under the sun. Generally that means someone my own age...perhaps not always but generally. However, in the meantime, I sure haven't lost My mojo...
