he's a legendary musician and a human being. To simply state to someone here on the org ...'Oh he's just a pop star get a life already' what kind of crap philosophy do you subscribe to? you have no right o low rate ANY ONE"S humanity like that.

Is the Living God real ? Of course. Can I prove to you? It's not for me to prove to you. And whether or not you believe...doesn't make Him any less God.

Oh and btw.... the Living God Himself is one hell of a musician His own self. how do I know?
Because He sang to me .... once ... in a dream..when I was 21. And the entire horizon was filled
with jewel tone colors from the botton all the way to the top...representing all the tones of the music. It was funky blues and the song was about works. but i wont say any more to you about that.

ill you mock? demograhpics show that there's a 98.6% a chance you will.lol Cuz you seem to be in the habit of mocking faith, God and humanity ...even though you yourself are human. *interesting thought*

but God bless and kiss my ass. lol

yes yes this has 2 be prince or someone who needs Dr.Phil

ok. Miss Caps....or whomever. Dr Phil? Are you serious? Pardon me, but that guy made his money off of being hostile to people... mostly Women!
Give me a break.

People all over the world can have spiritual experiences from time to time baby. it's NOT just for breakfast anymore!

take THAT!

lol.

I thought the song would work for a concert setting or something... and--to my ears at least--the speedy riff with the strings reminded me of my beloved Ramones in some strange way (right down to the bass drum on 1 and the snare on 3). Either way, "Cause and Effect" is certainly not his greatest work--and I'm not that crazy about the section with the "Hey" chant-- but it's not entirely horrible, either.

i agree. imo, the level of pure vitriolic spite occasionally found on this website speaks more to what is lacking in prince's fans, that to what is lacking in prince.
And in my opinion, it is stupid to say something in lacking in people because they say negative things on a website.

all that love in your heart and yet you refer to people as "dogs". Very christian of you.

it is perfectly okay for people to say they don't like a Prince song. Some of you need to truly get over yourselves.

There is hate on both sides. i have no problem with people defending the song but don't sit here and tell me that there is something wrong with me because I don't like it. I did not tear it down. I did not insult Prince and yet, some people still have a problem with my opinion. People knock a bunch of songs I like but instead of getting defensive, I keep it moving. You know why? Because I don't give a fuck what people think about the songs I like that they don't. And I don't care why people like this song. art is subjective. there is no right or wrong. Maybe one day some of the people in this for no ur right. folks have been overly ugly on both sides, but if u go back & read all these posts I`m sure u can c the scale tipping towards overwhelmingly ugly & neg comments about how P sux or or he`s lost it or some othr crap like that. y cant folks just like the song for what it is w/o being told we have no taste n music. & that Should go both ways but once the line is

thank u captain obvious. j/k. u speak the truth, it`s just frustrating reading all this negativity sonetines. I was just voicing my perspectivebwas all. thanks for not knocking me out

I couldn't help but notice that there have been over 1600 replies in the two threads associated with "discuss Cause & Effect" now if that level of interest isn't worth noting then nothing is. I happen to be a life long fan of Prince and his vibe -- I can actually remember hearing "I wanna be your lover" first time 'round.

What I have discovered for myself is that Prince is an incredibly divisive figure and for every Prince song that I absolutely love I can find someone that hates that same tune. While reading this thread I was surprised to see someone list "Dorothy Parker" as one of their all time favorites whereas I could barely stand it back in the day. It took Prince re-imagining that song on the One Nite Alone... Live! set for me to begin to appreciate the beauty of that song. So in the case of "Dorothy Parker" it took me somewhere around 20 years to "get" that song... it is hard to get past so much of the "controversy" and enjoy the music.

I believe that whatever is causing me to NOT get "Cause & Effect" has to do with the arrangement of the song -- Prince hasn't elevated the elements of the song that I dig to the forefront. For instance, I have heard many comments over the years that the absence of a bass in When Doves Cry was noteworthy, however I never missed the bass. Perhaps Prince will remove certain elements of the song we're hearing on The Current if he decides to release it on some project or another. With Prince very often less is more (hey, song title for you Prince!)

I am still digesting the tune, but felt like not being a troll today biggrin

Peace

fair enough.

what seems way over the top on this site right here right now is how people have been trashing prince himself and his ability to create and on and on and on. it is spiteful and immature, imo.

Very much in the Rock n roll is alive vein (as many have posted before). I actually like the lyrics-I like the honesty. Prince has something to say and daringly states it in his lyrics. The passion is there, I can feel it. Now, it is all about waiting for Prince to surprise us with the next music piece.
99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I make no excuses about my sensitivity and that sensitivity has zero to do with this site or with Prince.

Now, you need to drop your personal digs because they have nothing to do with this topic because I can go there as well and I won't be joking with mine.

The live bits good... and that's it.neutral

I can't believe the last 2 songs he's released. Lotus Flower was pretty good, but this is 2 steps backwards!

Little tip. You know a Prince song is going to be bad when he name checks it in the first line. He started doing it, or I started noticing it, with Emancipation.
Total throw away songs.
