THAT's the Prince i'd been waiting to hear for a LONG time.
I even give Lotusflow3r a nudge over my beloved Rainbow Children because the subject matter isn't so heavy.

I'll admit i haven't listened to Bria's disc yet because i didn't want to ruin the high i got from listening to the Prince discs.

Raspberry Beret, U Got The Look and even Purple Rain (the singles) only made it to #2 (If I remember right)!?

You're right. This is just, man it sucks ass right now but he sold a lot. I just hope that Prince won't stop promoting this CD because of this. That's not impossible with him and that's what makes me worry. He needs to go on Oprah and get these sales to rise up. That will work for him if he does this.

Again, (and i can't believe it's ME that has to do this) I feel the need to get ya'll to focus on a couple of things.

Firstly, the album is AMAZING. Debuting at #2 doesn't make the album any less impressive than it is.

Secondly, Prince limited himself by only releasing the album at Target. To be honest, if he hadn't done that who knows what the debut might have been? And the fact that he came in at #2 and it was only sold at one retailer, makes #2 actually MORE impressive in my book.

Although i don´t care that much about the chart position, ppl will only
talk about the No.1 and that would have given Prince some extra advertisement.
So if he is No.2 or No. 10 isn´t that important compared to the No.1 pos.

OK-here's what I don't get--there is a HUGE gap in the numbers b/t Soundscan & Hits Daily Doub.

Prince-HDD = 185,956
Prince-Sounscan = 168,458

that's a difference of 17,498!!!

Keith Urban-HDD = 177,292
Keith Urban-Soundscan = 171,547

diff. of 5,748

Keith Urban's numbers are off by a little, but Prince's numbers are off by A LOT!
What gives?!?
