I may have admitted the added photograph and music. Even if there is amethyst even if there is ipod, I grieve at this plan. It is too large sum and can't buy it.

[Edited 4/10/09 16:37pm] Okay, I don't know who came up with the idea for this and what kinds of fans they had in mind when they put it together but $2100? In these times? The only time I spent that much in one place was when I got my guitar (and that was still $900 cheaper). The iPod, documentary and live tracks (I want to hear professional quality live recordings) are extremely interesting but not quite enough to make me drop more than half a grand. Is this a test of fan dedication or something?

I think it's an interesting idea and it would be brilliant if they would use the money from the buyers for charity.
Otherwise I understand the negative attitude. I heard about this video before and thought this was exactly the kind of material you'd have access to as a member of lotusflow3r.

QUESTION:
2100$ is A LOT of money for a book and some piece of technology that most likely will be outdated in a year or two from now. Of course there's the rare music and video, but that will most likely - again because of today's technology - be 'out there' pretty soon... So what are you exactly getting for 2100$??? Is it an investment that will accumulute over the years until Prince's death, or maybe in time for some of those anniversaries? But then again, how many memorabilias are already out there, and how many more will come? What do you hardcore Prince fans/experts/enthusiasts say? I believe it's only the book that's worth keeping for future auction purposes. Do you think it's an investment worth putting money in? I'm sorry if I offend anyone with this question, but personlly I would only buy the book for that amount of money, if the amount was peanuts compared to my economy or if I knew there was a fair chance that I could sell the book for same amount...

Bargain! I've just ordered myself a few copies.
Seriously though, I've just had a quick look at the Kraken Opus site and the whole thing seems very silly indeed. I have the cheap edition of the "21 Nights" book, and frankly it doesn't deserve $2100 worth of luxurious presentation - it won't make the "book" any less pointless or any more interesting. The crocodile skin binding doesn't exactly fit with Prince's publicly stated views either. Still, at least it has a "free" iPod eh

HatrinaHaterwitz said:[quote] Genesia said: Ok! Is this recent enough for you? http://www.cbsnews.com/st...2113.shtml Prince Is Voted 'Sexiest Vegetarian'
(AP) Prince has been voted the "world's sexiest vegetarian" in PETA's annual online poll, the animal rights group announced Monday. A strict vegan, Prince, 47, wrote in the liner notes of his 1999 album, "Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic," about the ills behind wool production. He closed the disc with a quote from Mohandas Gandhi: "2 my mind, the life of a lamb is no less precious than that of a human being." Prince released his latest album, "3121," in March. He shares the honor with Kristen Bell, the 25-year-old star of "Veronica Mars," which is being carried over from UPN to the new CW network this fall. Bell, in a statement, said of her vegetarianism: "I had a hard time disassociating the animals I cuddled with — dogs and cats, for example — from the animals on my plate, and I never really cared for the taste of meat. I always loved my brussels sprouts!" Runners-up in the poll, which PETA said Monday received more than 40,000 votes, include Natalie Portman, Nicollette Sheridan and Joaquin Phoenix. Last year, Coldplay singer Chris Martin and "American Idol" Carrie Underwood were picked as the two "sexiest vegetarians." Other previous winners include Andre 3000, Tobey Maguire, Josh Hartnett, Alicia Silverstone, Lauren Bush and Shania Twain. Don't even try any of that semantics bullshit either because we all know if anybody dared put anything on the internet that Prince deemed untrue, his "brilliant" lawyers would not have hesitated in bringing up a lawsuit! This PETA press release came out around the time of the 3121 album, the release of which was celebrated with a party at Prince's place, where sushi was served. You know, that stuff that's made out of Prince's little friends from the sea? Prince hasn't been vegan or vegetarian in years. He just doesn't talk about such things publicly anymore, and I'm guessing if a group like PETA doesn't wanna do their homework and if they want to give him awards, he'll be happy to take them if they make him look in some way righteous. And if the release of this OPUS mess doesn't put the "Prince is vegan" myth to bed once and for all, then I don't know what else to say to you.

To put this into perspective, I only make 5 times the cost of this Opus thing in a year Not only that, but Little Miss Animal Kingdom has the damn thing made with silk and alligator skin. This is some kind of bullshit, and people have every right to be pissed. How do you figure? No one's being forced to buy anything. Buy it or don't - according to your desire and financial condition. You don't like diamonds and alligator covers (and everything they stand for)? Fine - don't bid on that version. You think $2100 is too much to pay for what is, essentially, an iPod and a lottery ticket? Fine - don't buy it. You'd think the man was punting puppies and picking pockets. Some of y'all need to get a sense of proportion already. If this is the kind of thing that gets you in a lather, your lives must be damn cushy otherwise. Seriously. When did it become so that because your a fan of Prince every single thing he does you should be able to participate in because your a fan? I didn't even bother to read most of the posts. This thing is a luxury item for folks that have the money to blow-- people who own several Mabach's, own luxury condo's in NY, and buy high end designer crap because they can. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I guess the only thing that bugs me about this is that he can't find the time to give something really interesting like Xpectation a proper release, presumably because doing so would be "living in the past", but he can find the time to polish a monumental loaf of dookie that people weren't terribly thrilled about the first time around. But I'm reaching here, so don't mind me.
