sure it's pricey but, c'mon...its still only $2100. asking for production credits and mentor sessions and interview rights...geez, for a measley $2100. lol i'm honestly not seeing the craziness in all of this. first of all, its something that has a connection to sotheby's and they don't deal in anything but high end. second of all, if you can't afford it don't worry about buying it. what's the problem?

do y'all throw a temper tantrum every time you see something you can't afford?

We're in the middle of an economic shitstorm, and a rich man is asking for $2000 for some tacky thing not even close to worth that much, with footage he should be giving to the people who paid the $77 for lotusflow3r.

To put this into perspective, I only make 5 times the cost of this Opus thing in a year

Not only that, but Little Miss Animal Kingdom has the damn thing made with silk and alligator skin.

This is some kind of bullshit, and people have every right to be pissed.

Again it is only the first edition book that will be auctioned in Sotheby's that has the alligator skin. It will probably go for crazy $$$$ as there will be a frenzy to own it.

i think this is a fair offer, so you're welcome. nod

I don't see anything on the website that says this is a Prince approved product...does it?

it's in the newly created news section of lotusflow3r.com - it's official.

How do you figure? No one's being forced to buy anything. Buy it or don't - according to your desire and financial condition. You don't like diamonds and alligator covers (and everything they stand for)? Fine - don't bid on that version. You think $2100 is too much to pay for what is, essentially, an iPod and a lottery ticket? Fine - don't buy it.

You'd think the man was punting puppies and picking pockets.

Some of y'all need to get a sense of proportion already. If this is the kind of thing that gets you in a lather, your lives must be damn cushy otherwise. disbelief

A gift, eh? disbelief A gift would be if he gave it to them, you know, as a show of appreciation for them traveling from far away places just to see the guy.

In no way is that actually a nice gift for them. What it is, is just more of this

plain and simple.

The alligator skin is another sign and new direction. Next year he will be dressing like Rob Halford, toting a gun and he will rerecord "Animal Kingdom" with Trent Reznor, lots of gun shooting in the mix as a homage to animal hunting. Larry G. will be replaced by Ted Nugent.

as for your salary...that is neither prince's problem nor anyone else's. you're suggesting prince is selfish or greedy or whatever because he's rich and wants people to pay for a product. well, what would that make you? you somehow think you're entitled to cheaper goods simply because...you want them. hmmm...sounds a little greedy, selfish, or whatever to me. if you want to make more so that you can buy more, learn a more highly sought after trade which can bring in more money.

of course he does. but people are also perfectly in bounds pointing out his hypocrisy. you post on this board, you see how people try to adopt prince's stated ethical positions and use those mores against other folks who post here. now prince is contradicting positions that people on this board have used to start shit with other people on this board.

so i'm guessing that all those folks from the late '90s who were told they weren't true prince fans because they weren't vegan are now free and in the clear. rolleyes

i'm still not convinced these books aren't made with synthetic materials, but they just as easily could be. you know prince will never clarify his level of awareness of the details. we'll be speculating about this forever.

well, shame on you (or anyone else) who "buys into" any other person's morals and extra shame on you (or anyone else) for feeling "superior" to others because you "buy into" someone else's views and morals.

build, and live by, your own personally designed morals and values. then you don't have to worry about being let down or disappointed in others.

nowhere did it say, and correct me if i'm wrong, that club members will be the only people privy to exclusive material. money talks, my friend.

Actually, the enticement emails and postings on Dr. Fuckingberry's website did state just that! I didn't fall for it either because experience is one hell of a teacher but I'm just saying so the record is clear! wink

did they really? did it explicitly state: "only club members will get the opportunity to see, purchase, or enjoy all exclusive material"? the phrase "only club members" and the word "all" are important because there's a difference between saying "club members will gain access to exclusive material not found anywhere else" and "ONLY club members will gain access to ALL exclusive material not found anywhere else."

as a club member you are promised access to exclusive material. no doubt, the club will provide its members with exclusive material both to purchase and to enjoy for free. BUT that does not mean non-club members will not have access to OTHER exclusive material. and by offering this exclusive material to non-club members, no breach in contract occurs.
An individualist is a man who lives for his own sake and by his own mind; he neither sacrifices himself to others nor sacrifices others to himself...

i don't think anyone is talking about forcibly stopping him from doing this. of course he has the right.

but i think it's reasonable for people who have been invited to buy into his own personal web of morals to express outrage when he seems to be disregarding this set of rules that he previously promoted as being very, very important.

prince invites us to feel superior to others because we live 'correctly' according to his views on the animal kingdom. and now he's selling a book made of animal parts.

well, shame on you (or anyone else) who "buys into" any other person's morals and extra shame on you (or anyone else) for feeling "superior" to others because you "buy into" someone else's views and morals.

build, and live by, your own personally designed morals and values. then you don't have to worry about being let down or disappointed in others.
