No one I know likes Prince

I was thinking in the shower today and I came to the realization that no one I know in real life likes Prince's music. I even decided to do a search on Facebook for people in the high school I went to that had Prince listed under music they liked and I was the only one that showed up. Also on Facebook, I set my status to "I think everyone should go out and buy the new Prince album" and I got one response, which was simply "no."

How do I imbue all these non-believers with some Purple Spirit?
Do any of you have similar situations?

Thank God for the internet...
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I think I'm possibly the only person in my city that likes prince.

On the plus side I'm working on converting some people.

Because conversations that start "hey, do you like prince?"
and end with
"no."

Aren't particularly thrilling.

I have college kids that live next door to me that are always having jam sessions and I pulled up Sunday blasting "Dreamer" he asked me who was I listening to I told Him Prince he was like..."No shit??? really??" I said Yeah he did'nt believe me so I let him borrow the CD and he likes lotusflow3r but hated mplssound!!! So I may have a convert. This is the paradox of Prince I always find. Not necessarily now, but throughout Prince's career.

Whenever he has an album in the top Billboard charts, I can never find anyone that has bought it or likes it!

It's a paradox because how can he be #1 yet no one likes his music?

(I know people love Prince, but it just always seems to be the case. Unless Prince is actually just buying all his own CDs, which would be a genius move if all he cared about was chart placement. He is a millionaire, afterall.)

It's kind of like... when George W. Bush got re-elected. People everywhere on TV and radio were against Bush. Every single person I spoke to HATED Bush. But yet, he still got elected...

Insider trading, anyone?

I think that most of Prince fans are scared of being placed in the same cubical as Prince. Yet let there be a concert announcememt and watch the masses move. I was surprised as to who I knew were avid listeners.

nod Sad, but true. Thank goodness a good friend of mine, who is also a Prince fan, lives only about 20 minutes away from here. I don't think I know of too many other people who like Prince.

I only know a couple people that say they like Prince, but most people I know at least respect Prince as a musician. For all the people that don't like Prince, I hope that whoever’s music they are into has been as fulfilling to them as Prince's music has been to me.

Peace.

I miss living with/around Prince fans that were as hardcore as I am.

I've been thinking I need to find some. I had even planned to troll Target Sunday morning to see if there were any other purple freaks there that I might be able to buddy up to.

But I couldn't get my ass out of bed in time to get there at 8.
