Dreamer & Sacrifice of Victor

For some odd reason I keep hearing the music from Dreamer, with Prince singing the lyrics to "The Sacrifice of Victor" but using the same vocal delivery as he uses in Dreamer. They actually seem to fit pretty well, at least in my head. Are the lyric verses structured similarly?

The first three words are EXACTLY the same.

I noticed that immediately when he played it on Leno, but then, Sacrifice of Victor is one of my favorite songs.

If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

There are a couple of similarities contentwise.

I have just listened to Sacrifice now, and get the point, when i heard Dreamer, lyrics wise I was thinking of Race off the Come album, but it is actually Sacrifice which is more comparable. Musically all 3 are different, and as someone pointed out earlier, in Sacrifice Tony M is thankfully muted out lol

Yes I had the same reaction....as some of you others out there.....when I first saw him singin this song on Jay Leno...I was like, "Damn, that's "The Sacrifice Of Victor," but with a rock vibe. Only in the first few seconds of the first verse, though....after that it's different. He even had Michael B & Sonny T backin him up, which was even cooler. cool

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was trying to sing "Dreamer" in my head but I didn't know the lyrics. I kept filling in the lines with "Sacrifice of Victor."
