lovers and haters That's usually a sign of a great song. I now know what it feels like to be an ardent Rainbow Children defender. There's a lot of depth to "Lion of Judah", and it requires some effort- perhaps the only song on the album to do so. It think it's absolutely masterful. As a person who loved TRC i think you're off your rocker... That hook is atrocious, the arrangement is seriously dated, i mean christ does he still have the same effects since the purple rain era, good god man... I am a Rail Road, Track Abandoned

I think The Rainbow Children sounds like a massively claustrophobic headache, but that's just me. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Wow, I never expected to be surprised by Prince anymore, but Lion Of Judah does.
It's the first song in a long time that does not sound like anybody else or like himself 15 years ago. If this is the influence of W&L: please let them stay. Finally a song in which here is something to discover. I must say that I'm not sure if this really is a classic, but its a song I would pull out the album for. I like the sounds and the structure. It's somewhat clutered though. -dennis- -dennis-

Lion in THE new song on this album ... perhaps not perfect in its production and the mix is confusing, it need a very good hi fi audio system to be playing... gato

this one appealled to me on 1st play .an it appeals to me 10 times more with 10 plays ect ect ..I appreciate prince doing this kinda music alot .he has alot of tallent an strength in this field . he is one of the greatest guitarists of all time . an any competion he had is dead or dont rock .. this sound/song is yet again a track on the album where i feel he has caught the live sound of his shows an performances like the superbowl an managed to catch it onto record an that is absultely awesome .I really like these lyrics an the vocals aswell as the playing . this a very strong song an i hope to hear him come down this road again .it is kinda different to anything he has ever done on record an closes kinda example i could give would be the awesome HENDRIX/BEST OF YOU medley he did at the S.B . possible A MILLION DAYS could be fit in a similar box . but this rocks harder . classic powerpop/rock .whatever u wanna call it .. id also say this song an The One U Wanna C seem to make me think of classic 80s rock songs ..with a slight bit of fleetwood mac thrown in 4 good measure .. is ROCK that in a way got him alot of fans an its good that he still rocking real good an the air guitar fanatics who play PURPLE RAIN have got some new songs to play with .. this is a sound he seems to have never completely neglected . but seemed to do it an then go back to funk for an just do it every now an then . keep rocking prince . i believe that he should one day do a whole album full of rock music like at least 3 of these songs on this album ..the funk is cool an i love it just as much .. but i love the way he expresses himself with guitars an his vocal approach to the rockier stuff an its always cool .. this is the song i been waiting 4 .. love it whenever i want to hear some new music ...i make some - prince '99'

Prince is well known an always will be known very well as a guitar god . so its great when he does these songs for the guitar/rock kids like this one .. yeah the problem he faces is he got so many fans an they all want different thinks from him . but this album satisfys us all at least once or twice .. i personally aint a big fan of FUTURE BABY MOMMA an SOMEWHERE HERE ON EARTH kinda tracks . but i am well aware that alot of his fans will love those two tracks an hate GUITAR an LION . so .. its hard work been a genius an pleasing every1 lol whenever i want to hear some new music ...i make some - prince '99'

gato That's a great theory! This song is the most challenging and meaningful on the album, and that opening chord does perk the ears. G. Indeed. Very good. I had to "pay attention" at the beginning. Thanks. But yet remember whose playing the G with him. At least I hope she is. "I don't make the rules. I just play"
