It's a great album, enjoy it or listen to some other artist's music. You don't have to like every song. There are songs on 1999 and PR that I just can't listen to. But some of us LOVE P for the quirky sh*t because it shows that he's not being a slave to the market putting out safe generica. i never asked 4 a rock album ..i wanted funk! i never asked 4 wendy and lisa back..that's past history.. good news is, january isn't far away 2 begin looking 4ward 2 the next new album man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |

To me, this song is that what Prince want to be listened to. This is why it begin with the guitar sound of Purple Rain, as an "pay atention please". Its the core of the album. Very original, complicated and deeply felt.

By the way, I do agree with your interpretation of "Lion of Judah," but I'd add to it that he's feeling pulled by the "demands" of his fans and/or critics, the press, his own inner demons/desires, and his faith. This is where he feels vulnerable, but out of these he finds strength, peace, and hope by placing his faith above all else. | |
