But reading the Org, it seems only a handful of fans here would be seen dead in Vegas and are bothering to go! Or can afford to go. From this I can only conclude your average Orger is a) not interested in glitzy holiday destinations or b) skint pretty much all the time. For those that do go WE WANT DETAILED REPORTS IN THE CONCERT FORUM PEOPLE! TAKE NOTES IF NECESSARY!

Hopefully I will be able to make it before his weekend stint at the club ends. Never been to Vegas and never wanted to go since I don't gamble and there wasn't anyone performing there that I'd want to see ...until now. I'd much rather him be doing this in Vegas than cold assed Minneapolis. Who the hell wants to go there in the fall and winter ... on vacation no less. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Looks like they'll be jumping at the Rio. So once the pre-sale ends for npgmc members, for both days today, they'll start to sell to the general public, whenever that is. That place is going to be jamming next weekend!! [Edited 11/2/06 11:37am]

When you're old and grey, what will make you happier, $125 sitting unspent in your pocket or a timeless memory of when you saw Prince in Vegas? Of course you have to balance the experience against what you can afford at the time, but I know I'd rather fill my life with memorable experiences, so I certainly don't laugh at people willing to fork out such money.

just go. you don't necessarily need someone to tag along with...besides, you'll probably meet some new friends there that you could talk to during the show.

GO GO GO!! I used to be the same way and didn't want to regret missing opportunities just because I'd have to go by myself. I was scared to death to travel alone the first time. Now, I've gone to see him in Vegas 4 or 5 times by myself (other places also) and have had a GREAT time, EVERY time! You'll meet some cool, friendly people...don't worry about that. It's very easy to strike up a conversation since you'll obviously have at least one thing in common. Sometimes, it's actually easier to go it alone because you do what you want, when you want, and don't have to worry about someone else. Especially if they're not a crazy fan, the lengths we'll go to for the experience, 'non-believers' may lose their patience and be ready to commit you!. oops...I see now that you got your ticket, way to go!! There are soooo many more things I'd willingly pay $125 for, seeing a lazy greedy caught-in-the-same-old-jazz rut Prince isn't one of them. I could easily buy books for the same amount and get both higher excitement and a greater experience Or buy my niece gifts and watch her joy Either of those and many more would work for me.

The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. so...does this mean we get Jazz versions of all the Elvis and Tom Jones classics? Is he walking the strip looking for a new wife? Is he helping Celine Dion pay off her husband's gambling debts? boy-o-boy...the hits just keep on a-comin'...

Well, for a Prince fan you seem to have a very poor opinion of someone who at the very least is an acknowledged legendary live performer. I mean I could turn the tables and go buying books? A smiling niece? Rather than see Prince? but that's fine if that is what you regard as equivalent and more interesting than seeing Prince live, then fair enough. It's just that many people here DO find seeing Prince live a little more exciting, enjoyable and memorable and they shouldn't be sniggered at for what they find worthwhile.

My best friend decided to have his 40th birthday party in Vegas in July- a month before my 40th. I wasn't planning on going, because I didn't think it was fair that he's having our mutual friends fly out (from NJ) for his party when mine is a month later and I was planning a party. I hope Prince is still there in July. I'll go, alright. I'll drop by, drop off a card, and hit "3121" without looking back! [Happy Birthday to ME!] "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. vinaysfunk said: first and foremost I am glad he got control of this situation and doing it his way. The only thing that kind of doesn't sit with me well is that the wonderfull mystery of where and when he's going to perform is gone. I imagine him sitting by the pool waiting for his next gig, "oh lawd time to school them again." So before you take this post as a complaint and say oh here's another one complaining, for the record I am not. I think it's great the way he arranged the whole project. It's just that I always like the mystery of this guy popping up all of the place and blessing us with his music, agree or disagree?
total DISAGREE! :wOOt: never liked guessing where Prince was. never liked the Mystery of 'finding' him. heck he can sit by the pool as long as he likes, and so will eye, and when he get's up and sez, whelp, let's go jam...SLAMMIN! AIN'T DOWN WIT...general admission at those prices though, and how come no one has mentioned the NPGMUSIC CLUB PRESALE??? did no one get a notice but me? let's c...rent a motor home...camp out 4 weeks....c Prince 16xs and go home, that could work. hmmm, contact friends n Las Vegas, and stay 4 weeks, c Prince 16xs then go home. or move 2 Las Vegas...c every Prince show, then ? gasp eye don't no. after Prince leaves Vegas, who's left? Wayne Newton? is he embalmed yet? "...and that sez what?"
