Remember the $374.52 for table/bottle - (dinner not included) you are allowed to bring one guest to the table with you (includes tax, gratuities and processing fees) and remember the $125.00 club fee is separate.
(When you purchase the $125.00 club ticket from tktmaster expect to pay a convenience fee which will total about $143.00.

So the question is...why would anyone want to do it this way? You only save $30 over the $312/person deal (if tax and gratuity are included for that) -- and you gets no dinner!

where do you get only $30?

Well..I'm a bit tired of the PUT DOWN of Las Vegas.
I've lived here now almost 3 years and it is a nice city to live in.
People that WORK here do not spend their time on the strip like visitors do.
I think its a great set up for Prince. Bsides, if he wants to have a great property built up this is ideal and we might get some Celebrations again and not have to worry bout freezing in the snow!!!Been there...done that..NO FUN.
Its a great business move, most artists, stars blah blah blah do own property in this town. Honestly, when u visit Vegas next time, venture on the outskirt of town...its wonderful...especially if u like Bike Riding cool
Wonder if Jseven was invited to the VIP Luncheon today in LA ?? That's another good way to promote. Good for Ya Prince..I wish U the very best and MORE! lol

yeah....it is obvious people only believe what they see on TV....it is 82 degrees and we are expecting a cold front when Prince arrives bringing temperatures down to 68.....and most of us who live here avoid the strip....but not now!!

Down to 68! Your poor things! Bust out the parkas and thermal blankets! Alert the emergency response teams! falloff

Sorry. That's got nothing to do with my issues with this Vegas gig, I just find it hilarious when people from down south complain about the cold. giggle

i've gotta agree with Meow85 on the pricing. thats too much. the most i've ever payed for a concert was around 115 bucks for two tickets. closest to that before was 55$, i figure if a show alone costs more than 80$, its a rip off. oh and i'm canadian. so thats more like 70$ american. over that it better be a damn good show, have more than one artist/band, or have something incredibly special about it (ie. final show ever or something).

Thank you.

I don't understand why so many people here are acting as if that's a paltry sum, or reacting as if I've got some kind of problem because I fail to see what a glorious event this will be.

Two tickets at $143 each (including Ticketmaster charges), plus $374 equals $660.

From an earlier post:

$694.00 - With Dinner/VIP tickets to the performance/table/w/bottle which includes tax and gratuities - for 2 people or a couple

$694 - $660 = $34

For the table if two people are going, they can split the fee for the table since there is a 2 person per table limit for that single person price of $374.52. Some people don't want to stand. At many clubs, VIP tables are much more expensive, but I guess if anyone can afford it and it's comfortable for them, then it's not really a bad thing.

But you don't save any money doing it that way. That's my point. I only counted the table once. But each person still has to have a ticket to get into the show. Splitting the table (unless you got a sugar daddy who's picking up the whole thing), it still comes out to $330 for each person.

This is how folks go to Vegas and lose their shirts -- they can't do the math!

Plus, of course, airfare, accomodations, food, and conversion rates, at the minimum. Even without considering shopping, gambling, drinks, attractions, or other such touristy things, that's a hefty chunk of money.

Exactly. I was looking at New Year's and there was no way in heaven or hell I could do it for under $1500 by the time I totalled everything up. (And I don't gamble.)

Guess who's drinkin' her purple kool-aid at home that night? lol

With how crazy & fun you seem to be from reading your posts, it's seems that you'd like Vegas, but it's not for everyone I guess.

But, don't RIP him just because he's not going to tour for a few months, this is a temporary thing.

I hope it's temporary and not pulling a Celine Dion stunt. I like Vegas, but I don't love it. And if I went there to just see Prince it would cost well over $1,000. I'd rather spend that on booze, shoes and hookers! lol

lol I'm with ya on two out of the three, but I hate shoes! I'd throw Prince on my list instead.

It's too bad you're not going, I bet you'd be a kick to hang out with. It will be temporary, unofficial reports say the deal is anywhere from 3 mths to a year. The Super Bowl performance could bring a lot of attention to the Vegas gig or be a big tour kickoff. Altho, I read recently that he doesn't think this current band is one he'd want to tour with. Maybe if we're lucky, he'll hook up with Michael B. & Sonny T. and hit the road.

lol Yes, that's why I mentioned that they still have to buy the ticket separately to get into the club, and I do see your point, but if they don't have the money to pay for a table, then they better wear some comfortable shoes, prepare to stand for a while and just enjoy the show, plus by the time Prince comes on and starts performing, they'll forget about their feet hurting.lol .

The trick I believe is to buy the VIP package and go with four people or whatever limit the table has. I heard there are tables that can fit up to 8 at the Rio. Invite the other non VIP ticket holders to sit at your table and then divide the entire price by whoever sits at your table. I have no idea if this would work but it just might.

LAS VEGAS (Reuters) - Purple was the color and Prince was the star on Wednesday as the eccentric musician launched a nightclub venture that will see him performing twice a week in Las Vegas.

Prince, 48, the sometimes reclusive singer, composer and producer with a penchant for surprises, is taking up residence in the desert gambling resort for an indefinite period, playing at the Rio Hotel in the 3121 club -- named after his 2006 hit album.

"I like Las Vegas," said a peach-suited Prince, during a sneak peek three song set featuring his signature wailing guitar solos and the 1984 hit "Purple Rain" that made him a superstar. The regular Friday and Saturday night shows start on November 10 and tickets at $125 are already sold out for the first weekend.

Prince himself has given few clues as to why, and why now, he has chosen to set up shop in Las Vegas amidst the topless dancers, magicians, Cirque du Soleil spectaculars and crooners such as Barry Manilow and Celine Dion who have also set up semi-permanent residence on the Strip.

A rare giver of interviews, he appointed his Australian twin backup singer-dancers, known as The Twinz, as his official spokespersons on Wednesday. "He wants to bring raw, live music back to Las Vegas. He wants a more positive vibe," Maya Mcclean, one of The Twinz, told reporters.

Prince is regarded as a perfectionist who from 1993 to 2000 changed his name to an unpronounceable symbol in what was thought to be a protest against the demands of his record label at the time. For a while he was dubbed "The Artist Formally Known as Prince."

But the intimate 3121 club, decked in purple and seating 900, will be under his sole artistic control. An adjacent restaurant, 3121 Jazz Cuisine, is being run by Prince's personal chef.

"This is his vision. This is his room. This is his club," said John Meglen, president of AEG Live which is backing the venture.

"The one thing about this town that Prince realizes is that if you go back to the Fifties, to the days of Frank Sinatra and
Tony Bennett, Las Vegas was a place where all the world wide great musicians came out and played," Meglen said.

"There is no-one more high energy than Prince. You're not going to see any lip synching on this stage," Meglen said.

After more than 20 albums, the versatile Prince emerged from self-imposed obscurity in 2004 with a lucrative tour and performances in 2006 at the Brit awards, TV's "American Idol" and "Saturday Night Live."

He is expected to stay in Vegas for several months. Or as Twinz spokesperson Maya Mcclean said "until he figures out what he wants to do next."

So from peoples experience at previous concerts, should I leave my cell in my car if it has a picture phone feature? This is my first concert since having a phone with that capability and I never really figured out at the previous concerts what people with those phones were doing.
Thanks.

I've never been turned away from a concert because my phone had a camera, including Prince concerts in Vegas. I think you should be alright.

I have seen people using such phones to take pictures at Prince concernts confronted by security, however. Even then, they usually just tell you to put the phone away.

We weren't searched or anything like that but some people who tried taking pics were asked not to so if you don't take your phone out you should be okay.
