Okay I'm a little confused. If you don't get VIP table does that mean that you are only allowed to stand in a special section of the club that may be further away from the stage? All of a sudden $125 wouldn't seem like such a good deal.

No, it just means that you're in standing room only. You can get a table for $374.52 w/a bottle for 2 people or a couple only (does not include dinner). That is separate from the ticket price of $125.00 that you have to pay to get in the door. This is what the person at the Rio told me.

For Dinner/VIP tickets to get in the door/table w/bottle, she said it is $694.00 for 2 people or a couple - that would cover everything.

Is he turning his back on MPLS?
And does the hotel room have a recording studio?

That's the same thing I thought (except for the turning yoru back on MN though). He probably figured that if wanted to do this thing now then folks flying into the land of snow is pretty unpredictable. You could fly in one day and not get out for a week! LOL

Hopefully he will open up club 3121 in Chanhassen during the summer. That would be fine with me.

I called the Rio to clarify a couple of other things and was told they don't have that seating I mentioned above. (now that I'm typing this, I don't know if she meant there was no upper tier at all or if it just isn't free...)

Also, they will have tables that seat four, but the packages are still sold for 2 people.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to make a reservation. by the time my plane lands on Friday, I check in and everything, the line is going to be insane. i don't mind getting in line Saturday because I'll be there and can get a spot early.

If anyone is considering doing the reservation without food option, let me know. It was $374 was it? I hope there's no extra cost.

3121 Review3121 -- formerly Club Rio -- can boast something few other nightclubs in town can -- it has been a Vegas club standard for more than a decade.

The 30,000-square-foot circular-shaped venue serves as a showroom at the Rio hotel before turning into a nightclub later in the evenings.

Its round design creates the perfect nightclub setup with a huge dance floor in the center and two tiers of seating surrounding it. The first tier of booths and tables is reserved for VIPs and features bottle service. The second tier offers tables where weary dancers can sit and rest their feet.

3121 is known as a great place to dance, but it is also now home to the purple one himself, Prince, who is scheduled to perform Friday and Saturday nights. As well, he is bringing his musical friends on Wednesday nights for special guest performances.

Twelve massive video walls surround the club and project funky, colorful images as well as live shots of the crowd.

3121 is also one of the few clubs in town that has a regular Latin night. "Latin Libido" is held every Thursday and packs in the crowds with infectious Latin house, salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton and hip-hop music.

It's near the stage and the tables are all around the left and right sides and the back, not sure if there is a second level, but I believe it is. But remember there has been construction done so it may be different now.

If this room is by the casino I am betting they will limit when people can line up. Gobs of Prince fans standing around outside a door for 4 hours wouldn't be good for business.

^^^Now see, that is the tricky part, these are the correct prices for

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHTS when Prince is performing,

I called the Rio again, this is the deal.

$125.00 - per person for entry into the club
- standing room only (NOT INCLUDED-->table/dinner)

$374.52 - single person rate for a table/w/bottle which includes, tax/gratuities and processing fees (person who purchased ticket for table is allowed to only have one guest sit at their table. Keep in mind that each person still has to pay $125.00 each for entry into the club - the price of the table/w/bottle is separate. (So it would be a good idea if you find someone to split that table fee with you if you want to sit down)

DINNER AND SHOW PACKAGE: will cost you$312.10 per person; MINIMUM OF 2 PERSONS OR A COUPLE (keyword is "minimum ")which includes Dinner at 3121 Jazz Cuisine/VIP tkts to show/table w/one bottle, tax, gratuities and processing fees included - Total for
this package is $701.52

Exactly smile --- single person rate, the 374.52 (Fridays and Saturdays) is for only one table with a bottle, in other words if one person wanted to purchase a table/bottle, then that is the price they will pay-tax,gratuities processing fees included in that price and they are only allowed to bring one guest with them to sit at their table. Everyone still has to pay the separate $125.00 fee for entry into the club.

Yeah, I was telling my husband about this. It seems expensive, but isn't the venue pretty small? If it's a club setting well there you are, sitting right there watching Prince perform just a few feet away? It's not like it's a stadium or something. I still think it's a pretty good deal because it's in a club setting at a table?? Right??

I read here that it's already sold-out? Does anyone know how long Prince will be in Vegas?

I don't think we can go during the holidays because we are expecting company, but I would love to go in the spring or summer. I bet he won't even be playing there that long. sad

Well, in a week's time we hopefully will have reports back from Orgers who will fill us in on what the venue is like and the whole standing/sitting situation, then people will be able to better make up their minds whether it is worth it or not.

Isel:
Yes it's a club setting so he'll only be a few feet away.

Babynoz: It's actually not that confusing. The prices listed is exactly how the lady over the phone at the Rio explained it and I called there twice just to make sure the info was accurate. So if you go with your husband and you take the package without the dinner and buy your tickets from ticketmaster, you'll pay $125.00 plus convenience fee - totalling about $143.35 for each ticket, so this is what it will cost with tickets from ticketmaster for the show, plus a table/wbottle for you and your husband (limit is 2 per table for one price):

$374.52 - will get you table for two w/bottle(you pay just that one price)
$286.70 <- 2 tickets for the show for you and your hubby (tktmaster and conv fee
$650.52 - About total cost you'll have to pay for this; price does not
include the dinner

If you and your hubby takes the Dinner and show package (minimum 2 persons which includes: dinner/2 vip tkts/table/w/bottle) it will cost you $701.52 and you would have to make reservations directly through the Rio to get the Dinner package which includes everything.

Then you have to think about the hotel and air reservations which is another dip in the pocket.

ROYAL APPROVAL
It's exactly one week from tonight that Prince will begin his new Club 3121 venture at the Rio and Luxe Life has the exclusive first look at his just approved marketing photo and the logo-look that will be emblazoned everywhere you turn at the casino. Expect mayhem next Friday night, November 10, when the Purple One unveils the new project.

Thanks for the clarification. I don't think 650.52 is that bad considering the venue and circumstances. We can't go right now though. sad I've just got too many professional conflicts and then personal commitments. We would have to wait until January at the earliest. I bet you could get some travel packages that include air fare, the show, lodging-- everything. It just depends upon how long Prince is going to be committed to playing there. It might just be for a few months or so--not like Celine show and Elton's show which were more long-term.

Both of us are interested.. I think it would be fun.. as long as it's in a club setting and Prince would be right there. That would be so cool. lol lol
I'm such a fangirl!! lol
