He is certainly utilizing the color orange more often lately, in his clothing and such! Isn't orange one of the colors that is allegedly supposed to make a person feel hungry? it's my favorite color! and i want a snack!

I like it. It's nothing particularly spectacular, but still looks good. Nice and simplistic. And there's an element of mystery to it. But then again when has Prince ever really made a good album cover? The only two that I can think of are Sign O' The Times and The Rainbow Children. Apart from that, none of his album covers have been great and a lot of them stink. So just forget about it. The new music, however, sounds absolutely fantastic so far. Which is what we all should be jumping up and down about...

Well, go check at HQ, as someone there posted a review of the songs that he heard at a listening party.
In the end, he was able to speak to a rep from either NPG or Universal, and apparently Prince was to submit the final cover art, lyrics, and credits today to Universal. So there you go. This may or may not be the cover, it may be promotional art or it may be insert art. It's nice though...mellow, and I like how part of it is dark and part of it is light, like the way the tracks may turn out to be as well. Wait, here' it is...i cut and pasted it 4 ya.... Once the listening session concluded the Spiegelsaal became filled with handclaps of the people who were privileged to listen to the album. I had the pleasure to talk to Kathy from the NPG Records who was very kind and this is what she told me: - there was no official tracklist as of yesterday - Prince was supposed to hand in to Universal the artwork of the album with full credits and lyrics today (02/17/06) - there was supposed to a full page ad in today’s USA Today with the cover of the album - tour is planned for spring/summer as posted by papaj at HQ [Edited 2/17/06 8:38am] Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see

there's a t-shirt over at the NPG online store right now with this cover art on it and the lyrics to '3121' superimposed in the background. orange shirt. looks like this image is the real deal for the cover art.
and if you want a sneak peak at the lyrics of 3121, go look at the shirt.

That's the effect you get when you shoot indoors with available light instead of using studio lights. The white balance is off.

Better than most of his cover art over the last several years, though he looks like a black T-Bird.

as said above, very boring and vvveeeerrrrryyyyy unimaginative.
i think this should be thought about alittle more before the release. don't get me wrong - it's ok but with all the hype this album is getting, the art could have been better. noituloveR lautiripS weN a fo gninwaD eht si sihT

I like that photo better, too. Or maybe there exist some clearer, better images taken during that Brits rehearsal where at he looked so totally. asskickingly. COOL. and they could use one of those for the cover. [Edited 2/17/06 9:38am]

Hmmm.....I take it by that lame statement you are refering to The Beatles. Album covers.....do they matter...surley it is the content on the album that REALLY matters. Perhaps I'm wrong I dont think so though. "If you really want something in this life, you have to work for it - Now quiet, they're about to announce the lottery numbers!"

Balls, when Joe Public is walking into the record store to buy a new CD do you seriously think that THIS will grab his attention!. First and foremost the price sticker will be slapped on his head or indeed over the title and secondly it comes across as a negative image i.e. dark, facing the wall etc. To be honest i only want the music on my IPOD but in the wider context of selling the CD to a wider audience i really don't think this does him any favours. At least with musicology we could see his face!. Do you remember that stunning, gothic B&W picture that came out during the Chaos and Disorder promos where he looked like he was at deaths door with really dark make up?. Now THAT was a statement, look at the SOTT cover, Lovesexy cover, Dirty Mind etc. Have shown the 3121 cover to some neutrals and they have just looked puzzled and used the word Crap to describe it! ----- First of all outside of Best Buy,Circuit City and a few large department stores. What records are you talking about.(LOL) Most are going out of business or hurting for cash. "Do you remember that stunning, gothic B&W picture that came out during the Chaos and Disorder promos where he looked like he was at deaths door with really dark make up?. " Yes, looking like he was at deaths door was a real great way to move all those copies of Chaos and Disorder. No one cares about the covers of CD's now a days.

Aw man.. what to say!
well i do like the orange. it's a pretty color. The 3121 font sucks really badly though.. i used to draw sruff in that font when i was 12. On the other hand.. i would be worried if P came up with an album with some really cool art.. i'd immediately suspect that he's trying to cover up some bad music
