Prince had a little success with the album, "Prince", but Rick had more success with his earlier projects and already had a following. For Prince's first two albums, he was fairly tame as far as outrageousness goes. Rick, on the other hand, was already singing about drugs, prostitution, sex, etc. Rick was also wild as hell on the stage. He would pull out a big ass joint and tell the audience to "Fire It Up". I think that Prince may have seen, on that tour, what it takes to make it big....shock value. Then Prince's outrageousness began. Every night the two of them tried to outstage each other. I don't think Carson Daly likes Prince after he made Carson look stupid for asking him dumb questions on TRL. Quincy Jones does not like Prince because he didn't kiss Quincy's ass. Remember Qunicy did a history of black music series on VH1 a couple of years ago and pretty much omitted Prince.
