Morrissey. I'm not sure if I spelled his name correctly. This was a while back, so he may feel differently now. He said that Prince and his music was irrelevent. I've only seen dude perform once (on SNL I think) and he sucked. | |

Why is this man important? Okay, I'm biased. I LOVE MORRISSEY. He's a witty poet. He used to be in a group called the SMITHS. I don't know where to begin.....he is very sarcastic and depressing. He has songs like SING ME TO SLEEP, I think it's about suicide. The song that really got me into him was THIS CHARMING MAN. I was in high school and it was the first song I really heard where one man is praising another man in sexual way. It wasn't graphic just romantic to me. I do think that Rick was insanely jealous of Prince, but he ended up sounding like he respects Prince's talent if not his music. About Keith, I think similar applies: he respects Prince as a musician but not his personality, which is certainly understandable. In sum, I think this might be the case with most people. They respect Prince, they think he's a musical genius although they might not appreciate his music and/or attitude. Trent Reznor likes Prince, again perhaps not his personality. | |
