many of the people mentioned here got where they are in part because they are talented. and by and large, talent recognises talent, which it is why it is hard to find a celeb who doesn't like prince.

prince humilliated sting once onstage in an aftershow playing with ron wood and bill wyman. ron wood said prince was trying to make sting loose the rhythm all the time and sting felt like an amateur musician. he finally left the stage. ron said prince was so cruel with sting.

most people who work in music recognise prince's huge talent even if they are not big fans...its the general public who are the problem

Eric Clapton is a huge Prince fan,but I recall one time when he criticized both Prince and Madonna for their sexual antics onstage."You'll never catch me crawling around the stage",he said in disgust.

This is also when Slash was drunk at the AMA's. I saw him on VH1 recently and he seems to have a lot of regrets about his behavior back in the 90's. He seems to have mellowed out.
