Really? Do you really look at yourself after age 35 and be like, "Yeah! Everything is looking so much better as I age"?

Seriously, after 35 everything starts to go downhill, that's just a fact of life.

I don't think anyone is saying that lol but also just because you are over 35 doesn't make you automatically hideous and undesirable either.

I never said that either. lol

Not for everyone.

Yes, things change, but not everything is downhill.

(There are people under 35 who have an uphill battle...)

With age (for some) comes a more refined sense of taste, and the resources to "make it happen".

I was out reecently and ran into someone I went to high school with. He didn't recognize me because he said that I look way better than I did back then...

Even with the extra pounds, gray hair, and other "things", I am more confident and self-assured... which translates into "hot".

But like painted said, "So many people do not have to think you are "hot"... just the right person."

Hey, awesome if you guys all think you're just as (or more) hot now then you were when you were younger.

I know when I was considered "hot" by most men and it was waaaay before I hit 35...and I fully accept that. I think most women peak in attractiveness between 30-35, then all that good starts to go bad. It's kind of depressing but there is nothing you can do about it.

I actually never thought of myself as hot, until I met Sweetie and he made it so awesomely plain that I was hot to him. As long as he thinks it, it's true.

Genetics plays a HUGE role in that one. Skin taughtness and facial features plays a role in a woman's hotness factor.

I know many darker hued women who actually look better in their 40's than they did in their 20's.

Its a skin thing. Some women have busted skin (acne) in their 20's or lack style or are just late bloomers. They tend to look great in their 40's.

As for me... my skin looks better now than it did when I was younger, you see... I was "blessed" with cursed deep frown lines and laugh lines in my early 20's...

so it aged me... now everyone tells me I haven't aged a day since my twenties and some folks tell me I look good for my age because of my skin... go figure. shrug

You will be considered hot, as long as you stay hot.

At the end of the day, I agree with this. That said, what makes a woman "hot" shifts a bit with age, IMHO.

I think its downright sad when I see an older woman prancing around dressed like a cheerleader with orange-stained skin, bee-stung lips and a face and body full of silicone, jellies, Botox and Lord knows what else so that she can look like eternal Malibu Barbie. On the other hand, an older woman who glides past with a certain dignified confidence; style that flatters her personality and shape; and an apparent comfort with, say, her facial lines and silver hair often gets a second look from me.

I concede my opinion may not count, however. rainbow

Me either. Thing is, the younger ones often feel they have "the goods" such that overcompensation in this vein is unnecessary yet.

not all, if they manage not to grow a beer gut there's a chance!

Some guys (out of all the guys that turned up to my 20 year high school reunion, about 4 looked really amazing, MUCH better than they ever did as youngsters, though of course I never saw them in the meantime either, so it's possible at age 28 they also looked good). I heard the general concensus was men looked much worse at 28 (and the women looked no different) but at age 38 the men looked better than the women. I wouldn't go that far, about 25% of the ladies looked incredible, about 10% better than ever, and the rest on equal footing with the men.

A woman can be considered hot until she thinks she's no longer hot.

It's all attitude and how much you take care of yourself. I've said it before, I'll say it again. I don't believe in getting plastic surgery for stuff that can't be taken care of by healthy diet, exercise, and a good skin care regimen (overall hygiene). Clothes also helps too. Age appropriate is key. Don't be wearing stuff you wore in your teens and twenties. It DOES NOT make you look younger.

Hotness also changes over time. It's not solely confined to those in their twenties. nod

There are some men in their forties and fifties I'd gladly hurt the sheets with over men my age ANYDAY! lol

I think this 18-19 year old sex kitten -craze is relatively new in the media. When I was a teenager myself in the 90s most of the sex symbols of the time were already in their 30s or even pushing their 40s (Sharon Stone, Madonna, etc.). There was something about the last decade in particular that made it okay to start aggressively promoting a very narrow idea of what is desirable and sexy in, both, men and women. A lot of the stuff printed on lifestyle magazines was just plain atrocious (Cosmopolitan, FHM and the like spring to mind).

I don't think girls under 20 were even dressing up like "grown up women" back in the day. Now you have even quite young ones trying to do the "sexy secretary look" or whatever, while it's the 30-40-year-olds that are looking like party animals gone on an infinite loop.

I kinda agree with Erin. After 35 you can be considered 'hot for your age' .......Shit I'm 33 and just this past year.....OMG well, I definetly don't look as good as I did at 28/29 thats for sure!!! Once you start going downhill, whatever age that happens for you at.....well it's over. This pregnancy is what nipped my hotness in the bud. Now I'm in the hot for your age category. It's a hard pill to swallow. lol

I look better and feel sexier now at 36 than I ever did in my 20's.

I was fairly physically attractive around 17-21 but I didn't know it. I thought I was hideous.

After 21 I was quirky-cute up through about 33.

Inciedentally, I don't think I'm "hot" now. lol I just know I feel better about my looks than I ever did before.

But I recognize, my path is likely different than others.
