i personally dont think its right, as it prob confuses the kid, and automatically he will b a target at school!!!!

my kids all played with dolls, cars, trucks etc... thats not the prob, but what they did was 2 extreme and i can only imagine a lot of future social probs for this littl boy....

So that little boy naturally favored pink and purple fairy costumes.....What does this experiment demonstrate? Some notion that without parental/environmental influence, males are actually "women," and females are "men?" Somehow, all of these "tests" lately have results like this.

And what exactly did this accomplish? What are they trying to do exactly? Try and raise an androgenous child?

I don't get it.shrug

When will people learn to let kids have their childhood and stop trying to ruin them? disbelief

I hate parent using their kids as statements.

Seriously, it's more annoying than when they give them some stupid artsy fartsy name.

Idiots.

Whatever. As long as they support the child (him) AS SOON as its (he's) old enough to start making any kind of decisions on its (his) own, like right about now or in the next couple years, I really don't care. If they child wants to be a certain way, or do a certain thing based on what he's experiencing in life, and they parents won't support him, that seems much more egregiously foul to me. The shit they've done so far just seems silly and pointless, because at that stage of his life they kid wasn't going to be affected much by such societal pressures anyway.

I agree with Imago, though - I think kind of stunt is more about the parents making a statement, or pulling a stunt, than anything to do with the child.

Sorry but this is child abuse IMO.

By repressing overly-masculine dress/behavior and encouraging feminine dress/behavior...they are PUSHING him to repress what he IS - a man, and possibly have issues with his masculinity.

I see some major psychotherapy in this young man's future.

cop Where's CPS when you need them?

I KNOW!!!

I mean really...let the child make his own decisions in life. If he wants to be androgenous in his manner of dress when he's older, so be it. But right now, you have to raise him as he is. A boy. You can't take that away from him.
