The original Angelique was portrayed by Lara Parker. Oh yes, she was hot.

shrug I could never get into the original, I found it boring. Didn't even know about it when I was a kid. I might go see this only because it's Tim Burton, but I'll wait for the reviews.

I like the original series and absolutely, positively ADORE the short-lived 1991 revival series (my favorite tv series ever, actually) but this Depp/Burton movie looks completey horrible to me, so far. The photos are everything I feared for when I heard Burton was attached several years ago.

It's a shame because some of the cast is quite good.

hmmm Was never much interested in the original, and Burton can wear thin, but I'm not altogether hating these first few images.

Everyone knows Tim Burton's real wife is Johnny Depp, not Helena Bonham Carter. He has been in more Tim Burton films than she has.

I'm not bothered by either one of them being in his movies and I can't really grasp why it peeves people in general. Its very old Hollywood of them to continue to work together like this. Plus, it allows for a great deal of comfort and risk taking when all parties involved are used to working together. I think Johnny Depp would do just about anything Tim Burton asked him to do, character wise. A lot of actors wouldn't take those risks.

On a totally different note; I would still get all kinds of up inside Michelle Pfieffer. She's fine.

I just really don't see how you can turn a soap opera into a 2 hour movie and have it be fulfilling for the audience. confused

...but the original creator (Dan Curtis) has already done this, way back in 1970, with "House Of Dark Shadows". It was "fulfilling" enough for the audience that a sequel was made in 1971!

Shucks I don't see what all the fuss is about. I'd rather see Depp collaborate as many times with Burton with a movie that's meaningful and done in a creative way rather than seeing the same old, same old movies with the same themes over and over again. shrug
