So that's for real? I could have sworn that was a photoshop job done by a fan. I guess Jermaine Dupri is going to use the same magazine tactic he used for his ex-girlfriend Janet for 20 Y.O. and flood the market with magazine covers..... confused

Unfortunately she never was a touring force so the veteran days are going to be tough for her. I doubt she's going to gain major attention from now on.

IMO she could be successful with a Vegas residency.

thing is though, if she is going to go for this FOLLOW through, she has the sex appeal, but she is the worst EVER at delivering. Her approach to sex is that of a 16 year old girl, so her dressing like this is hot to me and other adult men, and she has the body for it, the talent etc....however when her music starts and we are talking like a teenager, this image seems FAKE and she has always been this letdown, lets see if she can back things up now.

OMG Yes! Sing Mariah, just sing lol I hope she comes up with something special and not just JD's hype machine in full tilt. Everything is more of the same (so far) from her. Whether the album cover (they should have gone with the simple, beautiful head shot from the Billboard cover), album title, mediocre at best lead singles that suddenly become buzz singles when they fail to find an audience. I know some love her pretentiousness by dismissing it as her being a diva. I just call it annoying.

-

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for her to blow me away with her voice and decent songwriting. I'll wait...

I'm definitely going to stream the full album before taking the risk of buying another dud like Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. My hope is this one will be a superior effort.

Follow through with what? She's always delivered as far as showing off her sex appeal. You want the content of her songs to match? When I think of her music, nothing about it has ever touched me as ultra sexual. This "image" seems fake because that's what it is an image, a fantasy, a little something extra. Truth be told, Mariah doesn't have to play dress-up or sing vulgar to be hot.

I always assume Honey to be one of the dirtiest, skankiest tunes ever about man juice.

"come on m.c." "when your love comes over me" "strung out for another taste of your honey" "i can't describe how good it feels inside" "i can't hardly wait for another taste of your honey"

Both are talented rappers. Fabolous shot to fame with the collaboration with Lil Mo years back "Superwoman" (still the jam). Wale is more 'underground' and known for collaborations with Mark Ronson. He is on Rick Ross' label. He apparently had a number 1 Billboard album, so he probably sold like 5k in a week once lol.

Mariah could put out a good album making more 'grown up' music, or maybe an album of like standards &/or soul/R&B covers. I'd also like to hear like a duet record with Boyz II Men, Babyface, Brian McKnight, Charlie Wilson, Eric Benet et al that would be cool. Unlike some of her contempories, MC can sing, its just that she's not singing the right material IMO. I haven't really listened to her most recent albums although I have them & IMO 'Butterfly' with the R&B/Hip Hop feel was good back in the day. Another thing is that her image is competing with younger artists & she doesn't need to go down that route. But maybe its the right move for MC from a career standpoint if shes working with younger acts and having her music listened to by a wider audience, but from an artistic standpoint, she could put together some good albums and I think she's written (or co-written) some great songs like 'Always Be My Baby', 'Hero', 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'& 'One Sweet Day' amongst others.

No she hasnt, dressing in little outfits does not give you sex appeal, thats what im saying here, her dressing sexy and her music are so mismatched, its like Kirk Franklin singing gospel music in his underwear on an altar, its that much of a mismatch. And YES Mariah does NOT have to do that to be HOT that is the point, she always tries this, and then has music like "Touch My body"? Which im sorry there is nothing sexy in her music and honestly as a fan from day one, once she turned to the "sex kitten" she stopped being HOT.

I think Mariah certainly has alot of sex appeal, but it always looks like she's trying too hard to prove that she is "sexy".Her music videos never have any messages or a storyline....it's just "Look at me! Look at me! Don't I look sexy?" lol Someone should tell her that she doesn't have to work that hard.

I've shared the same thoughts, but it appears she just really doesn't want to put out more mature music.

I really enjoy the Toni Braxton Babyface album and I think Mariah would have benefitted from that type of project. But alas, that just doesn't seem to be her interest.

Thats basically what i am saying, she has that "insecureness" within and feels she has to do that, to make up for things, the music doesnt come off well, the videos dont at all, and thats why her later work has all been "one note" type stuff

eek I'd rather hear Mariah yodel and play the banjo than to put out an album that sounds even remotely like anything from Beyonce. That would truly be scraping the bottom of the barrel.barf

What's happening is,Mariah is now turning into a "veteran artist" but she and her label seem to be in denial about that.Veteran artists don't get the same type of aggressive airplay that younger "hotter" artists receive. They don't have hit singles very frequently. The hit parade is coming to an end.It has happened with Prince,Madonna,Janet and numerous others. The smart thing to do now is to change the focus from record sales to touring.
