Really excited about Millie Jackson's 1986 album An Imitation Of Love getting the remastered treatment. It's a superb album...one of her best.I think this may have been her most successful album ever. She even received alot of radio airplay with this album in the past, radio was reluctant to play her stuff because of the bold, outrageous lyrics. But this time around, she enjoyed huge hits with the singles "Hot!Wild!Unrestricted!Crazy Love" and "Love Is A Dangerous Game".The album also includes a remake of Prince's "I Wanna Be Your Lover" but the album's best track is the last one...."I Fell In Love".It's a stunning slow jam with soaring vocals and a haunting melody.....one of Millie's finest songs!!! I would chosen this as a single.
Anyway.....enough of my enthusiastic ramblings here's the album tracklist
Tracklisting1. Hot Wild Unrestricted Crazy Love Item DescriptionFirst ever expanded Edition of Millie Jacksons 1986 album "An Imitation Of Love"

interesting, thanks. I was aware of keyboardist Don Blackman singing background on "Love Is A Dangerous Game" (he appears on 1 or a few songs more iirc).

The fact that she got major career boost from this album and its singles was a glaring and puzzling omission from her Unsung ep. Good to hear that it's finally being released on cd with bonus tracks.

For the 35th anniversary of the record, Kaya will be expanded with not only one bonus track (the non-LP B-side “Smile Jamaica,” which has been appended to the album on previous reissues) but an unreleased concert from Rotterdam’s Ahoy in the summer of 1978. The album will also be reissued on vinyl with “Smile Jamaica” added, too. Featuring a 23-page booklet with lyrics, liner notes and unseen photos, you can find this new edition of Kaya in stores April 23.
Disc 1: Original LP (released as Island ILPS 9517, 1978) and bonus track
This configuration will also be released as Island/Tuff Gong/UMe LP B0018128-01 VINYL Disc 2: Live at Ahoy Hallen, Rotterdam, Netherlands – 7/7/1978

I was debating on whether or not to purchase the reissue. I've never heard any of the extended mixes and none are posted on youtube. So, I don't know. I'm still kinda on the fence about this one. I'm only familiar with the extended version of "Hot! Wild! Unrestricted! Crazy Love" which got heavy airplay on our local R&B station. But come on....this is Millie Jackson...it's not everyday that her albums get remastered You need to get this! Better sound quality, probably some good liner notes....you need a fresh copy anyway.
