FORTHCOMING BBR CD RELEASE:

Chaka Khan (Warner Bros. 1978)

Produced by Arif Mardin.

We were denied bonus tracks for this release due to contractual issues. We have asked Warners to look into the problem and try and help. But we decided that with the liner notes, interviews, packaging and superior mastering we will bring, it will be worth adding this classic album and amazing artist to our repertoire regardless. We will keep you posted on the developments as we learn more.

There ain't much to offer in the form of bonus tracks here except for some single edits. Now, if they plan on releasing the rest of her Warner Catalog, there is plenty of bonus material to include. I hope they are ablel to do this right. I don't want anymore straight reissues of these albums. There's several b-sides and tons of remixes to go along with any future Chaka releases.

I didn't really expect much in the way of bonus material for the first album anyway, but I do hope that whatever problem there is can be cleared up so that a future reissue of Whatcha Gonna Do For Me can include Lover's Touch as a bonus track. That's easily one of the best songs she ever did.

It would be lunacy to have another reissue of WCGDFM without including "Lover's Touch" and "Only Once" as bonus tracks.

I think I'm done with the Tabu reissues. I listened to "High Priority" the other day and was not satisfied with the quality of the bonus tracks. I was going to buy the SOS Band reissues but I think I'm just going to be satisfied with my original CD pressings.

I recently got FunkytownGroove's remaster of Surface's 1987 self-titled album and it's a very satisfying reissue thumbs up! Excellent sound quality and it contains the 12" versions of all three singles. To my surpise, there is a longer version of "Let's Try Again" that I had never heard before.I always thought that the regular album version fades too quickly.Nice to hear that extra minute or so.Highly recommended wink

ive got all the reissue cds so far....tabu/demon have not remastered this at all!! imo yes you got the original cd rips of the original albums but almost all of the bonus 12''mixes are all filtered vinyl rips (and crap ones too) and the kathy mathis and brainstorm cds are both 100 per cent vinyl filtered rips , all demon are interested is profit imo
