groove of midnight was finished timmy , at least nearly finished, listen to the very end of siedah garrett's version , you will hear michael at the end...

al capone is an early demo of smooth criminal, i'm really interested in price of fame...it must be a good song.....

Al Capone is a different song. Chicago 1945 is the early demo to Smooth Criminal and also the storyline behind the Smooth Criminal video

Included is the demo, “Al Capone,” an early incarnation of what ultimately became “Smooth Criminal,”

Judging from what I heard, Groove of Midnight was never done. No telling with Buffalo Bill or Tomboy though. Crack Kills was basically just simply an "idea" by Mike and Run DMC.

I've always said the same thing. "Groove of Midnight" to me might not have been completed by Michael. I really think he was only laying down vocals for Siedah's version. Buffalo Bill was completed for sure and so was Tomboy. I agree with you about "Crack Kills" being just an idea that never came to flourish.

That's just what the article says.. it could be wrong, but "Al Capone" might be a different early verion of "Smooth Criminal".

It's possible that it COULD have some sort of link to Smooth Criminal but I take it with a grain of salt because when the "Michael" album came out, people thought "Hollywood Tonight" was the alternate title for "Do You Know Where Your Children Are", which leaked about 2 weeks before the album.

Both Al Capone and Chicago 1945 are "early versions" of smooth criminal.. but are both completely different songs in their own right.. think streetwalker and dangerous.

i feel bad for bashing the tracklist/release earlier.. i was a bit upset about the remixes/6 new songs..

then i sat back and thought about what all we are getting..

we are getting a beautiful boxset. whether you get the deluxe or the collectors, they are both beautiful..

we are getting 2 booklets of never before seen photos of michael working in the studio and other things.

the original album remastered, with some songs in their original mix

6 new never before heard songs.

Bad Wembley stadium concert dvd, with twymmf from the prevoius night which the esteate was kind enough to give us.

a documentary by spike lee with never before seen footage and never before heard stories.

a live cd from the bad tour.

thats amazing! im so excited.

That's nice. I think I can kind of understand why they don't want to release too many unreleased tracks at once. I think by just releasing small amount of unreleased tracks at a time, each song gets to be appreciated and valued more..by fans and the general public as well.

I definitely want to hear every single one of MJ's song that has ever been recorded even if it's just a demo but at the same time, I'm sure not all of them are that great, in other words, worth paying money for..I'm not saying the ones Sony/Estate picked out for the album got to be the finest but I think they were at least considered more commercial and likable than the others...and hopefully the rest unreleased songs can just leak soon. I'll be patient.

Tracklist BAD 25th anniversary special edition unveiled

Published on Tuesday, 07 August 2012 12:47

Epic/Legacy Recordings in collaboration with the Estate of Michael Jackson today announced the highly anticipated track listing for the September 18th release of Michael Jackson BAD25 that celebrates the legendary album and record breaking BAD tour. Featured in the deluxe package, are three CDs, two collectible booklets, and the first ever authorized DVD release of a concert from the record breaking BAD World Tour – the July 16, 1988 sold out Wembley Stadium show in London.

Filled with previously re-mastered versions of iconic hits and un-released recordings from the King Of Pop, the BAD25 anniversary deluxe edition CDs and DVD will include the following: CD one features re-mastered versions of Michael's biggest hits on the original BAD album, including, "Smooth Criminal," "Man In The Mirror," “Bad,” “Another Part of Me,” “The Way You Make Me Feel,” and "Dirty Diana" arranged in the same sequence as they appeared on the original album released 25 years ago. “Leave Me Alone” was added to the album as a bonus track following its initial release and has been included on the disc.

CD two offers fans a rare listen to thirteen additional tracks, 6 of which are previously unreleased demo recordings created at Michael’s personal studio built at his then-home on Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino, California. Also included are all three bonus tracks from the 2001 expanded edition of BAD, the previously un-released French version of Michael performing the classic, “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You,” a high power version of “Speed Demon” remixed by Nero and the brand new remix of “Bad” worked on as an electrifying collaboration between Pitbull and Dutch DJ Afrojack. Recordings included in this package reflect the songs and spirit of Michael Jackson’s artistry during BAD’s recording sessions and have been selected to show the different stages of how Michael’s songwriting and recording genius took shape. Some tracks are so complete that any other artist but Michael Jackson – who worked tirelessly to make sure his songs reflected his vision – might consider them finished tracks. Others are less complete but offer insight into Michael’s creative process in its various stages. Included is the demo, “Al Capone,” an early incarnation of what ultimately became “Smooth Criminal,” “Don’t Be Messin’ Around,” an example of a more complete demo, and a song initially titled, “Song Groove.” That song later became known as “Abortion Papers” which according to Michael’s own records, he spent considerable time in weighing how best to thoughtfully address something that was, and remains, a very personal and sensitive issue.

A true highlight of the package is CD three and the DVD – the never seen before live concert on DVD and its accompanying music CD of Michael’s legendary July 16, 1988 concert at Wembley Stadium. The concert is not a compilation of performances, but rather one complete show, exactly as Michael performed it for Prince Charles, Princess Diana and the 72,000 fans who were in the audience for that night’s sold out show. This show was one of the seven record-breaking nights played at the venue attended by more than half a million people – three times that many people tried to purchase tickets. The DVD was sourced from Michael Jackson’s personal VHS copy of the performance as shown on the JumboTrons during the concert. This footage was only recently unearthed and is the only known copy of the show to exist. The visuals have now been restored and the audio quality enhanced so that fans can share in the excitement of that famous night in 5.1 surround sound taken from the original multitrack recordings made that night. In addition to the complete Wembley Show, the DVD will also contain “The Way You Make Me Feel” from Michael’s July 15th performance at Wembley Stadium. This is the only song not performed on July 16th due to the late start of that night’s show. Also included are the thrilling early performances of “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” and “Bad” from the Yokohama Stadium performance in September of 1987 during the first leg of the BAD World Tour.

There HAS to be some kind of demo to Groove of Midnight. Maybe it was never finished, but a demo should definitely exist. Rod Temperton and Siedah Garrett would know for sure. Wish there was a way we could find out.

Again we are left wondering about Buffalo Bill. If it wasn't released with this package, I'm not sure when or if we'll ever get to hear it. That's ashame considering what MJ and Frank Dileo have said about it.

I'm sure there is some sort of demo to Grove of Midnight but I think it's nothing but backing vocals and adlibs for Siedah's version. That's just what I think.

Buffalo Bill will be released, but I think it will most likely be on 2013's album. It feels like they know we want that record but they're making us wait for it. I just hope it's not a big let down.

Hell yeah! I also wanna hear the song MJ wrote for the Richard Pryor movie The Toy. He said it was going to be released but it was cutting too close to the recording with Thriller so he scrapped it. He said he did do a demo for it though.

I am a Loser

Broken Chair

Red Eye

Edgar Allen Poe

He Who Makes the sky Grey

hahah, i know right! a lot of michaels unreleased songs have really unique titles, which make me want to hear them even more! when do yall think the next album will be released.. obviously not 2012, because we are getting bad 25 smile , but possibly 2013 or 2014.. i wish they would put up a list on the MichaelJackson website and let the fans choose some of the songs for the next release, much like they did for the this is it setlist.. that would be cool.
