This really is just too much. I was at work today and my supervisor got off the phone and said, "Donna Summer died." Still in shock. Who knew she was even sick. So many classic songs. Where do you even begin? RIP, Donna...

I know, I'm still in shock... Playing all my favorite Donna songs on the stereo this afternoon... The last I heard she was still performing and thinking about putting out a new album... A wonderful voice stifled before its time.

This is very sad news. I was shocked when I heard this a couple of hours ago. Even my father (he's 80) made a comment about Donna's passing, he said he always loved the song she did with Streisand.

She has some great songs and you know you couldn't stay in your seat when her songs were playing. I hope she had enough new music recorded so the world will get to hear it. She will be missed.

I hope she has some new music for us to hear also. My Grandmother even let me play the vinyl LP Bad Girls on her kitchen stereo. I was shocked! eek lol I loved the duet with Donna and Barbra--this one's for your Dad:

Awe, this is very sweet of you.

Sometimes our older loved ones seem very out of touch with popular music, so I was pleasantly surprised when my Dad remembered this song so quickly. I asked him if he remembered any of her other songs and he said no, but when I mentioned (and started singing) "She works hard for the money", he actually remembered that song too. smile

Hey, where's the orger that used to post a different Donna Summer song each day? I can't think of her name but that's a true Donna Summer fan right there.

leecappella... I don't know where lee's at but I can imagine he (or she?) is devastated as are the millions of her fans.

Hi, Vainandy! Timmy! I'm finally here:) I have been reading and surfing the net since I got home. I was at work and around 11, I got a call from a coworker who told me. I thought she was pranking me right before she got to the real reason she called. Unfortunately, it was true. Vainandy, you called me a true fan and I will always be. Thank you. Donna Summer has alwasy been and will always be my favorite, my The Voice, and an inspiration in song to me. Many of her fans did not know she had cancer. She chose not to share that with the public. Her right. We love you, Donna Summer!!

Always take a little Summer with you.

Ps. I am a he, not a she (smile).

I was wondering about you, Lee, when I heard the news. I'm having a little Summer right now. wink You have always kept up with Donna--wasn't she preparing songs for a new album? That's the last I heard quite a while back. I was totally floored by this news. I would love to hear some new songs--her voice deserves to be heard again. Here's hoping...

Yeah, what an idiot.

What I think was ridiculous of her was not just the fact that she didn't know who Donna was but the way she reacted to it. Instead of saying something like R.I.P Donna Summer or something along those lines and keeping her lack of knowledge of who she was to herself, her first reaction was essentially "Who?" what a bitch mad

For every disco denizen.

For every Gen-Yer who listened to "Bad Girls" and "Last Dance" at summer camp and the roller rink.

For all those people who work hard for the money.

Or for a sampling of all those and many music lovers.

Take your pick. This is a blow.

Chancellor was right and I hope that the Hall corrects that oversight.

But for today, rest in peace. My favorite song of yours is below.

Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I'd guess it's because you're probably at least 40 yrs old, give or take 5 yrs.

Much respect to Donna Summer. May she r.i.p.
