i disagree, i dont think there are 50,000 NEW material.. but i think that if you combine ALL of michaels demo's of each song, ALL the different versions of each song,ALL motown outtakes, ALL outtakes from his solo records, and ALL the songs he recorded in his spare time. i would guess close to that.

Motown keep their shit on lockdown... And Sony would have to know about copyright protection... I don't think 50,000 songs of his were leaked. Maybe six, or seven at the most. But 50,000?

Re-reading one of the news stories, it claims not all 50,000 stolen files are Michael Jackson. it says "50,000 music files including Michael Jackson's entire back catalogue". Still don't know if the story is true..

Okay, just read about 30 pages over at MJJC about this incident. It appears the tracks were stolen by 2 members from that site. Seems like they ONLY got the 12 Cascio tracks. Nothing Will.I.Am or Freddy Mercury like the article states. So it would seem like they really didn't steal any unreleased tracks by MJ, only the fake Cascio's.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Thats basically what I was saying yep. And like I said the sooner we hear those cascio tracks the more it reduces the chance it will end up on a future MJ album............win win $$$ &

"Hold My Hand" ended up on MICHAEL and it was the first single.. so I don't think leaks will keep those songs from being released.. hopefully common sense will tell them not to release something they know most of MJs fans don't want.

where are the songs? if they were stolen last year....
leaked better to be left on sony's hand , they are professional in destroying songs !
i'm a loser and people of the world are a hint of what might have been stolen! leak that shit already !

I hope those two songs are put on the next album (hopefully not altered too much, or at all). Those two, and "Blue Gangsta" are the only leaks so far that I've been really excited about. The cascio songs, authenticity aside, just aren't that good - they don't need to be on the next album. If anything, save those for 50 years down the road when you're scraping the barrel.

^^ Loved that dance tribute from Got To Dance, thanks for posting. It's nice to see some fresh choreography for MJ tribute
Wow, hackers? MJ fans...must be quite talented...lol, but does Sony really only have 1 copy of those songs that once they get stolen they honestly have nothing left? I doubt it...
Hold My Hand isn't Cascio track though...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
What I was saying is... a song leaking doesn't prevent it from being released on an official album. Whoever I was responding to said that if the songs leak, they probably won't be put on an album.

hmm, I think it's more about those cascio tracks being on hands of MJ fans, rather than "leaking". I can imagine, if those tracks don't sound like MJ, the fans who stole those songs will likely to post that all over the internet saying that it's fake, (kind of like what some fans did with This Is NOT It website), then it may be hard for Sony to ignore them and go ahead and release those songs. But I personally wanna hear anything and everything.

I hate the sticky topic ..... but in such moments, I realize that it is needed, otherwise this section will be drowned in the wars, battles and conflicts ... the presence of MJ in the section "Music: Non-Prince" is too strong. A kind of desperation ...

I'd like to know more about those Cascio tracks... What I mean is who paid for them? Was it Sony or the Estate? And did the party that paid for them actually listen to them BEFORE they bought them off the Cascio's? I'm just confused about how the whole process what down.
Whatever the case, my guess is $ony forced those Cascio tracks out because of the investment and they thought the sound would be radio friendly.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I doubt it, being that "Breaking News" was only a promotional single; and the other two weren't singles at all. Clearly Sony didn't think there was hit potential in those songs, or they would've been singles.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
The other Cascio tracks weren't singles because of the instant outrage from fans saying they were fake. Sony had no choice but not to release them as singles. It was so bad, an official statement had to be released defending the authenticity of the tracks. Otherwise, I think they would've been released as singles. Why else do you think they slapped 50 Cent on one of them? Sony intended them to be hits. They really thought they could pull it off.

Sony knew better than to pull that shit...
