When I saw this I thought the same thing. Looks great IMO. Maybe some artists should let fans design the album covers...sometimes they end up better than the real thing. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Yep,it's a fan-made cover and I agree....the fans often create better artwork than the 'official' album covers! |

http://www.drownedma...e-newsbits.html News on the Radio and Digital Release of Gimme All Your Luvin & More Newsbits Besides what it's scheduled on AllAccess.com, according to DrownedMadonna.com, the radio and digital release of Madonna's Gimme All Your Luvin is still tentatively planned for January 15th.
We heard that, even though the melody is not so different from the demo that earlier leaked online, the final version of Gimme All Your Luvin is described harder, with a lot of bass and beats.
Last but not least, we heard that they are having some second thoughts about Masterpiece. Since it doesn't fit the album very well, they have some last minute doubts. Therefore, there are some possibilities that Masterpiece will not be included in the album. We have to wait and see. |

i bet the real reason Masterpiece wont be on the projectg is because of the oscar snub, because it not even in the film or the end credits. Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman |

weinstein - interscope - the NFL - they're all pushing their same madonna product at once so they can help each other. of course the song is hitting radio a day or two after the SB. is this going to be another Just A Little While situation we have here? Janet was subtle enough to not also have her directorial debut opening the same week in theatres...Madonna's gonna hafta show her snatch at the SB to get this mess played I'll leave it alone babe...just be me |

i don't know
im not buying the part about GMAYL being so different...candy shop was exactly the same as the leak and she wanted that gem to be the first single...
i don't know why im being a negative nancy - ever since she started duetting with Britney, featuring Missy on remixes, then duetting with Justin, Timbaland, and now MIA and NM - i don't know - it's not really madonna anymore! it's like how demi moore doesn't look exactly like her old self. she looks like a hotter older lady who looks just like demi moore. that's what's happening to M, musically...minus "confessions" of course

Masterpiece is an okay song, but kind of boring. It's not up there with her best ballads like Live to Tell and Frozen. I think she can come up with a better ballad to put on the album. Also I don't like the fact that I've already heard two of the songs on the album. |

Interesting that you say except for Confessions. Because a lot of fans would include Confessions in the beginning of Madonna becoming more commercial and less artistic. They say Confessions was damage control after the failure of American Life. It was a very commercial pop/dance album that was not as innovative as albums like Ray of Light, Music and American Life. I love Confessions but it definitely was the beginning of a less risky more commercial period in her career which continued with Hard Candy. I don't really mind because I like commercial pop and more artistic innovative music. It will be interesting with the new album if she continues in the very commercial direction of the last two albums or takes more chances again. |

I'm really hoping for something like Ray of Light but with the leak of the latest song I doubt it. But, here's hoping for something more. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Just had an interesting conversation with my son who heard me play Madonna's Ray of Light and Music LPs for the first time. I asked him what he thought of them and he said they sounded too dated--too nineties--for him. Although he is a Lady GaGa fan. Got me to thinking--what do people who have been following Madonna's music consistently on this board consider her least "dated" albums in terms of sound, lyrics, and/or relevancy that outlives a certain era? I honestly don't know. I think her first three albums at the least have a "dated" sound and in some portions of Erotica and Bedtime Stories but I love its dated sounds so call me biased... I guess some will argue what actual material of hers is dated or not. |

Some may argue that the title track of Ray of Light is dated because of the electronica sound but many of the songs on this album don't sound dated to me... Or maybe my ear is just out of touch unlike my son's...who is in his early twenties... I would just be interested in what people's opinions are on this topic. Actually, I should clarify the question--what Madonna songs seem to have a "timeless" sound/quality to them and which don't? Your son's one to talk though since Gaga's music caters to either '80s or early '90s pop. |

Yeah, I know, right?! I had to remind him that if there was no Madonna, there would never have been a Lady GaGa! And by that same train of thought, there never would have been a Madonna without the artists that influenced her... I think all of Madonna's albums sound dated mainly because she chooses producers that are very "current" at the time. She rarely, if ever, has done a "classic" album. Gaga's albums will sound very dated in a few years time, too, for the very same reason. I love that about M's albums because they sound like time capsules. I listen to Erotica and I'm in a NYC gay club circa 1992. That's part of what's fun about her to me. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide." |

It's probably a generational gap. I know people in my generation (1980-90) think Madonna was the inventor of some shit when she wasn't. Least I know better. |

Anyway, back to Madonna--sorry for taking the thread off subject. I'm still hoping Madonna gets out of these "duets" with "hip" younger singers/rappers and will do mostly her own stuff on this new album. I think it is really important for her to follow her own vision at this point and not try to play the catering to the younger latest fades in music card. Music is an interesting album. The title track is somewhat deceptive.....it makes you think that this is a big 'dance' album but what follows is actually a mellow, moody collection of songs.I like the laid-back feel of this album. It was needed after the heavy, introspective album that preceded it (Ray Of Light). |
