The tour schedule seems a little awkward - and why isn't she playing O2 and at least two nights in some major centres? Odd.

LOL @ Interscope fucking up and removing the GMAYL single from iTunes when the deluxe pre-order offer ended - it's now nowhere to be seen in the Top 100. They may have cost her a Top 5 hit on the Hot 100. It was already declining versus Kelly, anyway.

I read that. First the Lady Gaga Amazon scandal, now this...

Apparently, the real stage as Soul Alive posted on the tour thread is going to be much more big and spectacular than the Ticketmaster map. lol

She should just use the stage she had at the SuperBowl...that one is AWESOME!! I bet she comes up with something even more extravagant for the tour.

I gotta tell ya, I'm starting to get stoked about this tour. I liked Madonna in the 80s and early 90s, and then didn't really listen to her music, just as I didn't Prince. This will be my first Madonna concert and I want to see what all the fuss is about while she is still in fighting shape (controversies included LOL). I skipped a class today to buy tickets in San Jose and apparently with the monster stage plans, I'm going to have a great view of the concert! Whatever happens, I don't think it will be boring! wink lol

lets hope the woman takes SOME TIME and lets her ideas MARINATE. this tour already feels rushed. and half assed. and thrown together. i dont want the 4 numbers from the superbowl just re-arranged, plus a latin gypsy section plus a rock-out guitar performance of "Ray of Light" and Hung Up at the end. NO way.

She's basically been doing the same format each show since her return to touring in 01. 4 (sometimes 5-ish) sections.

1. The Hype Opener - whether being tossed around by gas-masked dancers and coming out of dry ice, fog and smoke and mirrors (that was da shit!!!); or coming out of a discoball to rider her dancers like horses (ditto); or vogue or riding down the catwalk in a car - the first 1-2 songs are are always a big shocker/DRAMA opening and they are always great. the rest of the first section tends to be more 'up' numbers, overall...

2. The Boring Ass "Deep" "International" "Spiritual" "Performance art" with OFTEN WAY TOO MANY NEW SONGS FROM THE NEW ALBUM section. Obviously S&S was the exception. She was trippin there. (or out of ideas). In Drowned World it was the overlong but still kick ass "Butoh" "Geisha" / in RIT it was the out there "War" section, in Confessions it was the Middle Eastern mess.

3. Always acoustic AND/OR "Gypsy" "latin" (often random evita mess thrown in) section where she gets "serious" about her vocals.

4. The party / dance / disco / DJ set.

We get it.

It has worked BRILLIANTLY in two cases (DWT and CT); very well/decent in once case (RIT); and was pure shite in the last case, creatively speaking. I have watched all my other madonna concert dvds from the past decade religiously (even the RIT bootleg) but I havent even been able to sit through one full screening of S&S in one sitting. The fans want something new. Just like Janet's fans let her have it pre Rock Witchu (AND SHE LISTENED TO AN EXTENT) I think us M fans who are spending $150 - $400 on tickets need to demand:

--NO "La Isla Bonita"

--NO Live Earth / Confessions / Coachella / S&S version of "Ray of Light"

--please, lets leave Evita out if we are also going to ignore Erotica

--please no contrived performance art section

--please more live musicians (S&S was a step in that right direction - now get the arrangements to sound GOOD)

--give us your vocals the way you did on RIT. they were excellent. (Or "GS" for that matter).

--tone down the dancing when you are singing a tougher song.

--make sure you do get in a leotard and show more skin than at the superbowl, k thanks.

I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Madonna has a record breaking week

Written by Giampiero Fiorelli

It's been a record breaking week for MADONNA. Along with the largest halftime U.S. viewership in SUPER BOWL history including MADONNA's BRIDGESTONE Halftime performance (peaking at 112.6 million viewers), the pre-orders for THE MATERIAL GIRL's upcoming MDNA album ascended to the top spot on iTUNES stores in 50 countries and was the largest one day pre-order of any album in iTUNES history, it was confirmed today by her record label INTERSCOPE.

A key part of the album release included a first of its kind worldwide promotion by CLEAR CHANNEL, which premiered MADONNA's new single and video, "Give Me All Your Luvin'," across its full range of media platforms, including radio, outdoor, online and mobile on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3rd.

"CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT's global reach on the MADONNA launch was unprecedented, and we couldn't be more excited about our partnership," said INTERSCOPE GEFFEN and A&M Pres./Promotion BRENDA ROMANO. "Their willingness to work with us on every element of the simultaneous, multi-platform campaign -- everywhere MADONNA fans are -- exceeded our expectations and was instrumental in driving pre-sale of MADONNA's new album MDNA."

"You cannot overstate the impact that CLEAR CHANNEL's MADONNA campaign had on the MADONNA pre-order on iTUNES during SUPER BOWL Weekend, as we experienced the largest first day pre-order ever for an INTERSCOPE artist,” said INTERSCOPE GEFFEN and A&M VP/Sales GARY KELLY.

"We felt the amazing power of CLEAR CHANNEL worldwide, they clearly have the muscle to create an event program," said MADONNA's Manager GUY OSEARY. "The results speak for themselves -- we are very happy."

"We're thrilled to help contribute to the success of MADONNA's new album MDNA," said CLEAR CHANNEL National Programming Platforms Pres. TOM POLEMAN. "Our goal was to use CLEAR CHANNEL's multi-media platform to create a massive international pop culture event on a scale that's never been done before. And we're excited to see how quickly and passionately our listeners responded."

Rumor has it Britney Spearswill be appearing on Madonna‘s new album, MDNA, which is slated for a late-March release date. On Twitter, a front & back cover of Madge’s new album was leaked with what appeared to show Miss Britney Spears seemingly sharing vocals on track numero uno, “Girls Gone Wild,” causing a frenzy on the social media site.

Neither Madonna nor Britney’s reps have answered any questions regarding the track.

It's fake The front piece has the MadonnaTribe watermark and the back piece doesn't. Also, the two parts are backward in relation to each other.

Madonna appeared on KIIS FM 102. with Ryan Seacrest today. Here's a link with the full interview:

Madonna Says M.I.A’s ‘Digit Malfunction’ Was A ‘Teenager, Irrelevant Thing To Do’ [AUDIO]

Thanks for the link!

Madonna called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” to discuss her Super Bowl performance including the controversy around M.I.A.‘s digit malfunction, and whether or not we can expect Britney Spears on her upcoming single “Girls Gone Wild.”

Since stepping off the Super Bowl stage controversy has swirled due to Madonna’s guest performer M.I.A. raising a middle finger during the performance. Madonna confesses: “I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity it seemed negative. It’s such a teenager…irrelevant thing to do…there was such a feeling of love and unity there what was the point? It was just out of place.” (Skip to 7:20)

Can we expect more gladiator motifs from Madonna’s upcoming world tour? “Oh god no! I don’t want to repeat myself. I never do that! I am having auditions all next week. Then I’m going to shoot the video for ‘Girls Gone Wild’ after that, then I start rehearsals,” she says. Madonna also squashed rumors that Britney may make an appearance on her upcoming single “Girls Gone Wild” saying, ”No, it’s just little ol’ me.” (Skip to 14:20)

The “Material Girl” shared that the most stressful moments of her Super Bowl performance were “when my throne docked on the stage…then getting my cartwheels on the bleachers right. Once I got past those two moments I knew I was sailing home.” However while performing her hit “Like A Prayer” with Cee Lo Green she “was overwhelmed. I started crying. I felt an incredible sense of warmth, love, and support. To see an entire stadium light up like candles it was…like a religious experience.”

Desribing her new album,Madonna says "It has “a lot of up tempo [music], but I also have three ballads which I haven’t done in a while. Something for everyone!”

How did you meet Madonna ?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: With a phone call. I was really impressed. It was her manager. I thought it was a joke, because my team and I are joking a lot. I actually thought it was my Australian agent pranking on me.

Tell us about meeting her for the first time ?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: We actually met on Skype. I was in an airport and everything was planned to go smoothly… but obviously, I had problems with the Internet connexion. So, I raised my arm like I was trying to adjust an antenna. I was completely paralyzed. She's such an icon, a figure of music…I said a lot of nonsense in the first five minutes… I usually don't get starstruck, but this time, I absolutely was…

How do you call her ?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: Everybody calls her M. She likes when things go fast.

How did you direct her artistically?
MARTIN SOLVEIG : I learnt from her manager that she liked how I dared to direct her during our first recording session. When you sing and record at the same time, it's not easy to really to get an idea of the result. That's my job, this is what I do, I'm a writer and a producer and had to tell her "this take was right, this one wasn't."

Do you find her intimidating?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: Very intimidating. She's a very strong woman and I love that about her. It took me a little time to see her as an artist and not as an icon lingering in her trailer with her Grammy's and her millions records sales…

Were you a fan? What do you think is her legacy to the world of music?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: She has left her landmark in music and fashion in every era. In the 80s, in the 90s. And she has succeeded – what I think Michael Jackson has failed to – to still be relevant in the 2000s working with Mirwais and Stuart Price. I'm more a fan of those albums than the ones she released when she started. And THAT is impressive to me.

Do you think Lady Gaga took her crown ?
MARTIN SOLVEIG: No. I think she's a disciple. There's a master and a disciple. It's very simple. We all have a role model, don't we?

What about your single leaking last November…
MARTIN SOLVEIG: Some of her fans are very talented hackers who got into her computer, took her pictures…
I told her about that already. I couldn't send anything sensitive to her email. It remained the first single because we had two guests M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj. Otherwise, we would have released another single.
