Britney Spears Talks Madonna, Plastic Surgery

'When it's time to pull and tuck, I'm sure I will consider it,' the almost-30-year-old singer says.

Britney Spears is fine with the numerous comparisons that have been made between her and Madonna over the course of her career. After all, she tried to mold herself after the star. When asked who she tried to emulate when she first started out, Spears answered, "Madonna. No question. She is an amazing entertainer. Besides Madonna, I also admire Sarah Jessica Parker's career and her shoe collection," the singer told Out magazine. (Madonna is also set to have her own Out cover this month when both covers drop on March 29.)

She had equally kind words for her pop contemporaries. What does she think of Lady Gaga? "Unique." What about former pop rival Christina Aguilera? "Truly talented."

Over the course of her career, Spears has recorded a number of songs ranging from the awesome ("Toxic," "Slave 4 U") to the more forgettable ("Email My Heart"), but she has no regrets. "All of my songs are f---ing amazing," she told the magazine. Spears displayed that same swagger when talking about her latest release. "I think Femme Fatale is my most upbeat and mature album yet. I collaborated with will.i.am. I am a huge fan of Black Eyed Peas, and I have always wanted to work with him. I also worked with a new up-and-coming artist from the L.A. area named Sabi. She raps on a song I love called '(Drop Dead) Beautiful.' "

While she loves all her own tracks, there's one recent radio smash that Spears wishes she had jumped on. Spears said that she would have loved to record Eminem and Rihanna's "Love the Way You Lie."

The magazine also delved a bit further into the singer's personal life. When asked how she would feel if one of her sons turned out to be gay, she replied, "I love my boys no matter what." And when asked if the singer ever crushed on a female celebrity, she responded, "I only have eyes for men." Spears noted that everyone should have the right to marry, including gay people. "I think everyone should be treated equally."

Femme Fatale's release is one of Britney's major milestones for 2011. Another is the singer's 30th birthday, which she doesn't seem very worried about. "I'm excited to be out of my 20s," she said, before sharing that she's not against plastic surgery. "When it's time to pull and tuck, I'm sure I will consider it."

Britney and Madonna have a similiar visual look as well as musical sound. I think that's why she relates to Madonna and not Janet.

Britney used to name both of them in the beginning of her career but around 2001-2002 it's only been about Madonna.

Agreed.

Britney has always reminded me more of Janet (and Paula, actually)...Madonna's influence more evident with XXXtina, Gwen and of course Caca.

I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Right. It's so funny how these artists completely ignore her when it's so evident that they ripped off her whole style. But then again I can't blame Shitney. She's probably oblivious to the fact that her management was just looking through Janet's career to manufacture her.

Britney has given janet credit many times in smaller interviews and things like that, but for mainstream mentions and interviews like this, Madonna came up, AGAIN! I am a BIG madonna fan and have most of her catalogue but get very annoyed when Janet doesn't get her props. Even when Britney first came out, I thought of Janet from day one and not Madonna once until media started saying it. i was a kid when Madonna was hot in the 80's and they seemed nothing alike to me!

Its funny this thread started as I was going to start one on Britney and Janet. Yeah I really see the influence of Janet and Paula in Britney not much Madonna at all really. I think people compare these two because they are both white.

I do see a Janet influence in Christina also, Stripped remind me of the velvet Rope and Britney Album of All For you.

Eh she stopped mentioning Janet over a decade ago. After she kissed Madonna on the VMAS it was always about how she's her "biggest influence".

Maybe she is now getting over that crush of hers and is in denial with statements about just liking guys.... Even her Madonna duet was full of Janet inspiration with the moves (and mj), and Everytime, Janet has a song of that name and is naked in it. Her Onyx World tour outfit ripped off Janet's 1998 AMA's...what a waste

I will give Britney props if I like a song or routine and play them, but I don't like her voice or not giving props when needed. I remember her listening to Damita Jo in a car one time, and saying she wants her Circus routine to look Janet inspired.

I saw a book about the greatest artists ever last year. An mj bad tour image was on the cover and huge, at the bottom was an image of Britney performing. Madonna, if not Janet, should have been there, not her.

That's not true at all. She stopped mentioning Janet once her career and fame got bigger. It's because Janet Jackson is a black artist.

Janet in recent years has been more of an R&B artist and has moved away from dance music, whereas Britney is more of a dance artist like Madonna.

Janet just isn't as an original or as an amazing performer as Madonna despite what her fans on here think.

Once again, this isn't true. Janet Jackson began her career as a R&B artist and developed into a Pop artist towards the late 80's. Janet is known for her dance music, as well. The fact that Britney is mentioning Madonna and not Janet has nothing to do with Janet doing R&B music.

By the way, Janet is a far better performer than Madonna. I've seen both of them live too.

Well to be frank I rarely hear anyone mention Janet like that nowadays, white or black.

Ciara does it all the time but she's currently on the D-list and Aaliyah used to be consistent with it before her death but besides that they don't name check her.

Madonna's choreography in her prime was nothing like what Janet and Britney do, totally different dance style overall.

And yeah I agree Janet is a way better performer live, Madonna's best tours were in the 80's and 90's performance wise, though her last few were good visually.

People mention Michael and Madonna all the time.

Once again, maybe, you didn't do your research.

By the way, people mention MJ all the time, not Madonna. It's usually just Britney and Gaga that mentions her.

Umm, People mention Janet as well. As a matter of fact i find it pretty odd that Janet is Not as big of an Icon as Madonna is, Yet Everyone that list madonna as an influence even down to Lady Gaga has said that

"They Look up to Janet"

"These are two records by somebody that I have a tremendous amount of respect for, who I just had the pleasure of performing on X-Factor with in the UK, we did not perform together but we performed on the same show, and she's just an unbelieveable legend, and such a talent; somebody that I really, really look up to. And they're my two, two favourite songs, and favourite videos, that she's ever done. So here they are, here's Janet Jackson with Nasty and Rhythm Nation."-Lady Gaga

But Back to Britney and Madonna, I dont see where the comparisons come from. The only Comparisons I see is Pop, Blonde, and Controversy.

I think that Janet has had more influence of female artists than Madonna, dance moves and all.

I think they look at Madonna as she is the biggest female star, but not to take any notes from her.

Madonna is a not someone I would look up to as a performing artist.

HAPPYPERSON

maybe its her management that just want to focus on the madonna comparison b/c madonna's succes it their benchmark for her, isn't britney spears the biggest selling female artists of the 2000's decade, so she's like miniture madonna in terms of commercial success
