and was recorded the same year lol Blood on The Dancefloor was originally for Dangerous

Why didn't it make the cut until 1997? Do you know?

I think it didn't make the cute due to it sounding too similar to remember the time (beat wise primarily) and when you look at it objectively it paled in comparison to RTT as well. Also there were enough dance tracks on those first two sides - maybe it interrupted the flow.

It's funny how I can listen to the history(song) remix but not the Original version.

I don't think BOTDF would have fit the Dangerous vibe and direction the album was going in. I compare it to the "Carousel"/"Human Nature" situation. If you have the Thriller album in your iTunes and also have Carousel in there, try this...Replace Human Nature with Carousel and listen to the album. Once Carousel comes on, it throws off the flow of the album.

"Blood on the Dance Floor" and "Superfly Sister" were both Dangerous outtakes, the other songs were HIStory outtakes ("Morphine").

I think songwriting wise, he was at his peak at 1984-1994. l

Hm, there is no such thing as an artistic peak for me. If it is the same person, I approach all their work the same regardless of when it was released. Someone who was once brilliant once can always return to that, regardless of what has occured in between. Ppl like to talk about Janet "everything after The Velvet Rope... blah blah.." When in fact, I like both All 4 U and Discipline better than the janet. album. Michael could've released Invincible in 1985 and it would still have been just as shitty and bloated to me. Mariah's best album was released in 2008- 18 years into her career. Prince make something better than Dirty Mind this year. We never know. This whole thing about pinpointing an artist's so called peak never made sense to me. They can be great whenever and they can be shit whenever.

U will never see me make such a statement as "Earth Song is his best post-Thriller composition." I always see ppl saying this album is the best since... or this and that. Its good or it isn't good. Same artist, same standards. Songwriters aren't athletes. As long as they're living, they can continue to imagine and create. No peaks.

He once said that he is always evolving as an artist. I believe that if you can get even grown men to cry to "Earth Song", and I've seen his video shows, then you're very effective as an artist.

After lurking, I saw that some of the fans at MJJcommunity.com
are saying that there will be a new album out sometime between
June and August, with out-takes from Invincible as well as some
of the newer music Michael was working on before his passing.

Anyone else hear of this or more details about this????

yeah it does nod I believe songs like Carousel, Got The Hots, and Hot Street should've been b-sides. Imagine this:

Wanna Be Startin' Somethin with b side Got The Hots
PYT with b-side Carousel
Thriller with b-side Hot Street

instead of top 10 hits, those singles would've been #1

Most likely a fake rumour as Timmy says, but also not that far fetched. That timing marks the one year anniversary of his death so seems like a logical period to release something.

Like all things until something is confirmed and a release date given it's all speculation.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... Got The Hots should've been on Thriller. It's better than Baby Be Mine, PYT and TGIM. Such a cool track.

Got The Hots sounds like a hybrid of BBM and PYT. I do think it should have been included, but BBM or PYT would have had to be removed and I wouldn't want that. TGIM could have been left off and replaced

I'm feeling very sad about Michael today. I really should avoid listening to his slower or inspirational songs (at least for a while), all they do is make me upset.

Somtimes I forget he's actually gone. Actually, I think I like to be in denial most of the time. I miss him sad .

I´ve had my moments of feeling down lately, too. I think I forget most of the time he´s gone. Realizing it still brings tears.

Yeah Dag, it's really hard to believe at times. I rarely cry over MJ these days, but today I did.

Today was just a bad day for me 'cause i'm missing him so much and can't believe he's gone still. I went over to ticketmaster to see about Sade tickets and saw that I had MJ listed as my ultimate favorite artist. I remember signing up at Ticketmaster a while back so that if MJ ever toured the U.S., I could try and get tickets first. Seeing that sent me over the edge 'cause I've never seen him live and now I realize I never will.

I so wish could be talking about MJ's concerts at the O2 now instead of a damn death investigation!!!!

*sigh*
