what about the allegations in 93? I was about 7-8 when they came out. I just remember a bit of it on the tv. How was the reaction? People very surprised or not? Did people have an opinion-mainly guilty or not?

Shock is the only word to come up when we heard the allegations. I was 9 but I remembered the hysteria.

what was going on with the hysteria....similar to the chris brown drama? can some older fans answer me on this.

What the hell are these "very unusual problems" they keep referring to? The last time I looked, insomnia wasn't an unusual problem. confused

And THIS is why the autopsy needs to come out. They have me feeling like I'm playing "Clue" or at least "Connect Four"!

Regarding the 1993 scandal

I guess there were some out there who were just sick of the King of Pop, after some point, and were tired of his success and his face being plastered everywhere. This was the beginning of the end.

sad

I was look at the 1993 Grammy as being the the absolute peak of his career with a lifetime achievement award and his sister Janet hugging him.

i have a question for those who remember the thriller megamania...is this as big as it was or bigger?

i was a teenager when thriller was released. i had just gotten my walkman with my first paycheck. when i placed the cassette on the counter, the cashier at the record store said, this is a really good album.

i used to listen to it every night while i was doing my science homework - and i got a 'c' in science as a result!

i was hoping that i would see thriller nominated for some grammys the following spring, but it had been released too late. however, only a few short weeks later, motown 25 came on. i lied to my employer so i could leave an hour early from work. we didn't have a vcr - too expensive back then.

when the jacksons came on, it was all over. they were so exciting doing a medley of the j5 hits. but then it was just mj. i swear my stomach did flip when i saw that moonwalk. omg! it was just so...i don't know. all i can say is my jaw dropped.

the next day, it was all anybody could talk about. i wasn't aware of the whole mtv thing, but i can tell you, after motown 25 he probably really didn't need them as much as they needed him.

over the next year, it was crazy. yes, thriller mania was crazy, beyond crazy. still, even then, his family was causing trouble, the media got in their shots, there were all sorts of questionable business people around him, and jessie jackson was there. lol

but yes, i will never forget thriller. like prince said, it was a moment in time never to be replicated. his death is just as big, in a morbid kind of way.

how is dr murray going to live after this..

knowing he killed the king of pop around the world, he's gonna have to have security guards on watch 24/7 if he's in a prison cell with someone he'd better watch out boxing

If they don't fry him or assassinate him then put him in a cell with "Don Ross" and let Don sing "Centipide" and "Muscles" every night to Dr. Death.

For a man who had trust issues, that's the shocking part for me, that he trusted AND hired... a cardiologist... to give him the shit he got off and on since '97. neutral
[Edited 8/13/09 19:40pm]

yeah, michael wasn't a medical expert so propofol was obviously suggested to him by some doctor...during the history tour some doctor convinced him that it is harmless if he's monitored.at least then the doctor was an anethesiologist. michael must felt safe because he had done it before but that is still NO excuse to take something so dangerous cause something is bound to go wrong sooner or later.

last week i had surgery and i was put under anesthesia and i think it's criminal that a doctor would give this to a a patient at home without all the proper equipment and by himself!!!! i had about 5+ experts watching over my breathing and watching the monitors and stuff. i feel sick that a doctor recommended this to michael and made him feel like this was safe.plus i was on it for like 3+ hrs and i woke up drowsy as hell

Michael had over a million surgeries including cosmetic surgery, he had to be given propofol at one time or another. I am pretty sure the Doctors warned him of using that in a home setting. I had it for a surgery, it had me feeling drowsy but it was the best damn sleep EVER! He knew the outcome but didn't give a damn. cool I bet he felt like he had 9 lives because he was MICHAEL JACKSON. Death does not know superstar status.

there was a doctor who said it was used on michael during the history tour, i don't think this started because of surgery, like i said michael isn't a medical professional he wouldn't know what the heck propfol is let alone use it as a sleeping aid unless someone told him and suggested he used it.the doctor shouldn't have gave it to him even if he begged for it, he didn't need it

It makes me feel sad to remember how much the public was crazy about him at one point, and how his reputation was seen in a good light overall.

I really feel bad for MJ seeing what he went through.

He needed real friends to get him out his problems, and when you're into drugs you only want people by your side who will give what you want.
